Just downloaded v1.8 of the XFace skin and I read in the release notes that a newer build of MediaPortal is required for the VU-meters to work.
It would be great to see these in action. :)

I had this too - reinstalled and it's running ok now.
And I WOULD apply the dvb fix just in case :)
