It's just bad logging from MediaPortal, it doesnt check if the control is mandatory or not it just says its missing. You can safely ignore them.

I just setup MediaPortal and the StreamedMP skin. Both are great products, and I learn more...
Just to confirm, I believe the culprit was indeed my firewall (Kaspersky) not liking something in the Mediastream installer. After re-installing with it disabled and then making as much as I could trusted the issue hasn't re-occurred. Crossing my fingers that it's fixed for good now :D
