I think I have tracked down the seat of the problem. Running in debug mode the logs show a PureAudio error. If I disable PureAudio for Last.fm the problem does not occur.

Thinking about this in more detail (having upgraded to an unstable plugin to have a play and then reverted to the stable version), there must be a mechanism of "ignoring" plugin updates.
If this is not possible, and you retrograde back to an earlier version of a plugin, it will always show on the screen as "Plugin Update Available"...

Tried testing the 1.7.4 installer on an other pc with Mediaportal installed. This time it's not a Win 7 but a Win XP system, but I get the exact same error.

for the last couple of version of streamedmp ive been getting this error constantly whenever i start the smp editor...
