I had the same experience and after reboot of MP, it disappeared for a while (to reappear again some time later)
But I do not have this problem anymore since a few weeks.
I don't now if that was before or after I installed the final 1.1.
Furthermore FFdshow has a setting for it, see automatiic cropping.

I would not worry too much about that, channel changes are too frequent, use comskip to cut out the adverts on recordings, and you are viewing that channel for even less amount of time :)

is there a way to call up the properties of the used filters during playback? Think of rightclicking in MPC. This allows me to change filter properties (most interestingly of course ffdshow) and see the results in realtime.

Have a similar issue to yours (running RC2) which i thought was down to codecs, So far i can get every movie to play (all mkv's) when i disable moving pictures and just access them through the normal Video listing. If i enable Moving Pictures the only way they will play is if i run from the Debug mode, they will all play fine.

I have tried upgrading my graphics card to an ATI 5450 (from an X1300) and still have the same issue.
I've solved this! Turns out if I plug the client directly into my router (100mbps) rather than going via my gigabit switch the problem goes away. This doesn't really explain why everything played back fine through normal windows though.
