@pilot: I have been thinking about it and that type of functions might be a bit too much for MP.

I have this same problem as you, but so far I always use Android Tablet Case with Keyboard, Discovery Channel Great Gifts Popular Categories Father's Day Father's Day Deals , Discovery Channel Store while viewing my content cuz of the stand. So i have not run into this issue on my tablet. Altho I can see it as a big problem. I just dont see a way around it atm.

I can help with this one, Dadeo.

@TLD: Actually.... Dadeo is not able to use Netflix where he lives, but I am trying to help. There are two plugins that I have been riding Dadeo to work on... Pandora Music Box and Netflix. Oddly enuf, both are useable from within aMPed, but neither looks good... both plugins not showing the full scope of the plugin screen. He is actually working on Pandora now as it is the easier of the two to tackle. The good news here is, more than likely.. what fixes Pandora will also fix Netflix. I am providing Dadeo with screenshots of every possible scenario to help his understanding of how it should look. So.... keeping all that in mind, I would say "Yes" Netflix will be supported soon.

Got netfliks working, ended up taking the files that were in the Blue 3 skin folder and putting them in the aMPed skin folder. lol

@ Bas - I am looking at volume buttons but there are three required and I am not sure I can fit that on 4x3 but trying. Your idea for arrow and enter keys is good, but as lyfesaver said MP will not support it. The problem is that as soon as you access the topbar, the focus changes to the topbar, so MP has no way to know which control (menu item in this case) you wish to use the enter/arrow keys on. It does not remember the last control you accessed. A plugin or change to MP code would be required to support that. Even then, normally MP does not just arrow right or left. In the skin you specify exactly where you want the arrows to go to with navigation tags for each and every control that can have focus. That is why remote and keyboard work but mouse and touchscreen do not, because they do not use those navigation tags, they use coordinates on the screen. With the sliding menus MP gets very confused because from it's perspective everything is on top of each other (just not all visible).

TLD - that is great about netflix, but what do you mean Blue3? Do you mean the Default skin files? There is no more Blue3 in MP 1.2.0. If you can post a screenshot(s) and the xml(s) I can maybe fix it up a la aMPed style a bit.

TLD: Ya, like I said... both Netflix and Pandora work in aMPed (yes you have to move the flies over, but that is true in any unsupported plugin), but as you can see, it does not look right, but is functionally stable.

First i had to manually install "MyNetFlix 1.3 (Use Only if you are using the latest SVN and want to install manually).zip" which can be found here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ad-my-netflix-plugin-watch-now-support-56764/ then copy the .dll form "MyNetFlix 1.3.1 for MP 1.2 Beta.zip" which can be found here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-netflix-539/my-netflix-1-3-1-mediaportal-1-2-beta-95930/ into the "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows" folder overwriting the .dll that was there.
Then i took the files in the "Blue3" skin folder i found in the skins folder that "MyNetFlix 1.3 (Use Only if you are using the latest SVN and want to install manually).zip" placed in "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal" and placed them in the same places in the aMPed skin folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\aMPed" and "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\aMPed\media"

This is on a Windows XP system as you can see by the paths.
I hope this makes sense, and there are some issues like the player is windowed and my remote isn't working in the player but i haven't really played around with it much yet other than watching a movie right now.

@TLD: Ya, like I said... both Netflix and Pandora work in aMPed (yes you have to move the flies over, but that is true in any unsupported plugin), but as you can see, it does not look right, but is functionally stable.

Yes that's what gave me the idea to try it. and yes the font is tiny and there are some weird things like i said in my post above but i can use it and that's good enough for now until Dadeo and you get it figured out.

by the way i'd be more that happy to test it as you progress. :D

Ya... I am guessing Wiley added a Defualt/Blue3 skin since I last tried.... cuz without it... using the streamedMP skin files... it looked Baaaaad. But this... this is MUCH better than I remember... good job on this. Your comments... you seemed really happy with it, and I thot... "How could he be happy with THAT?" so I decided to look again and BANG... MUCH better!

    Hi

I found a workable solution for the touchscreen and the arrows.
At least, for me it is a good solution and as others may have the same problem, I will post my solution:

When I watch TV/Movies etc. I use the TV screen and the remote to control MP.
When I listen Radio/music etc. I just use the touch screen (and sometimes also the remote)

I use revaMPed as basic layout and changed it a litte bit.
The main menu in RevaMPed is clickable with the touch screen (also with enter and the mouse). So I modified the main menu (top level) to give the watch menu, Music menu, extra menu's ect from the vintage. So if I select Music on the top level menu with my touch screen, I will get the vintage music menu with the big buttons. Perfect for use with a touch screen.
If I don't use the touch screen, I can use the arrows from the remote to get the normal revaMPed menu (and sub menus). The RevaMPed looks a bit nicer (backdrops).

So when focused on (for example) the Music menu, you can choose to use the right arrow on the remote to get all the Music functions in the RevaMPed menu (list).
Or you can click on it with the touchscreen (or enter), to get the vintage music menu (big buttons) to get the same music functions as when you click right but then in a different layout.

I have tested the latest SVN (yesterday evening) and so far everyting works fine!

    Dadeo
I understand it now why it is so hard to have the arrow buttons on the screen...
    Anyway I am happy now!

    Have a good day!

    Bas

Hi Bas: I really like how your brain works. Nice creative solutions you keep coming up with! I was always aware that the Vintage sub menus could be added to revaMPed, we deliberately supported them there. But I never thought of it helping mouse/touch screen users. In fact, I had tried to use the sub menus originally for revaMPed, but I could not fit all the plugins into the revaMPed sub menus, and I hate it when only some plugins are listed. So I had to use links on the main menu items to go to main MP windows. BUT if you are editing Basic Home, you can easily remove the plugins you don't use/need often and then have lots of room. That way you can also bypass the annoying third level for system and games if you want :)

This might also help Chuck to please both himself and his wife as they can then use either method of using revaMPed - arrows or enter and back/esc key to navigate to sub menus. :p

You may have noticed, there are seven sub menus in total, the exact number of options on revaMPed: Watch, Music, News, Gamers, System, plus Extra and Extra1. They are all clearly identifiable in the Editor Dropdown lists of plugins because they say 'Menu' after. You can also use the advanced button to change the label/text that displays in MP, but keep the link intact. Of course, to edit the sub menu windows you have to use Vintage Editor, but that's not hard.

So thanks for the idea! I will have to create a mod like that for myself and see if I can make the submenus fit the style a bit more (and get Migue to add support for a backdrops to them :D)

yes that is indeed what I did in that ticket. It may already be working without updating those plugins because most of it was not relevant to the plugin itself (test, some leftover unused parts etc).
