I haven't had much of an issue with movies being auto approved. Most of the time it's foreign movies or movies with the same title that don't get properly approved. For me it's not a large issue.
A larger issue for me is movies of the same title being given the same backdrop art and poster art. For example Alice in Wonderland (1951 & 2010) and The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951 & 2008). Both of these movies show the same backdrop art and both download poster art from both movies requiring you to scroll through poster art from both movies in order to find one for that movie that you like.
This also brings up the ability to change the backdrop art from with the GUI like in MP-TVseries. I know this has been mentioned as being in a future release (2.0 maybe?) but I would just like to restate it's need as a priority.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.
