I also like to see it working again. From what I found out searching the forum a separate release has to be build for it to work. As there is much work to do in implementing new features no one has the time for this I think.
that is absolutely not my impression, I think I reboot my htpc max a couple of times a year, usually (wild guess) when directx derails
(symptoms are: frozen image, or sound only at video playback)
Mind you, it's MP client only, no tvservice, and mp shutdown before sleep (and ofcourse start again at wake)

Hi, I have a server/client PC (MP2.4) that seems still to be still working fine, but 2 other clients have suddenly stopped playing...
You don't need a Windows account. You can also remove the login password so that the PC is always logged in the same way. Makes sense at an HTPC because you don't have to connect a mouse and keyboard.

VLC has a browser add-on that allows you to start a video selected in your browser in VLC, you then can use its record button. Doesn't always work though, my guess is it won't on protected vids but it is the only thing I have found other than the excellent download capability of Online Videos when available.
