Best codec and settings (1 Viewer)

Run dscaler to change the default settings. Set deinterlace type to Tomsmocomp and set output resolution. I also have a few of the denoise and sharpen filters on. I havent noticed any problems with aspect ratios etc. Let me know if you need any help.

Hi all,

Here is what I found working wrt codec etc to improve picture quality, in particular for sports:

- Use ATI Avivo codec for MPEG2
- Use Cyberlink PDVD for h264
- Make sure "wait for v-sync" is enabled
- Calibrate refresh rate to be a multiple of 25HZ, i.e. 50Hz or 75Hz
- Set ffdshow raw filter as post-processor (unfortunatly this will turn of HW acc of the gfx card but I can live with that)
- In ffdshow use Kernel Bob for deinterlacing
- In ffdshow use Sharp->Unsharp to get a slightly crisper image

Seems to work OK for me at least. Please feel free to comment!
