I suspect it's a problem at the selectv end not MP. They probably haven't set the EPG yet. From time to time I lose the EPG on cartoon channel too but it resolves after a day or two. We may need to wait for a while.

I'm looking forward to FMC and Starpics.

I got FMC and Starpic last week. Give selectv a ring and ask them if you can get them now and they will turn them on for you. The cost is $2 extra per month and I just told them I was prepared to pay the extra $2 now and they were on within 30 seconds.

Thanks for the advice. I called select and they want $10 extra p/m from me because I'm on the old 'great tv' package at $29.95 p/m. Do you think it's worth and extra $10. I would gain FMC, starpics and the two disney channels.

Austar CEO John Porter said: “AUSTAR wants to ensure that all regional SelecTV customers will have the opportunity to have not only continuous service, but also an improved product offering for a very similar price.

Very similar as long as you don't want the same channels and no movies! Plus we would need to use one of their boxes so they can shove it. 90 days is better than the 30 I first read at least. Now to record as much as possible so I have something to watch for a while after they are gone :D

Yeah $42 per month and no movies. Perhaps they will offer us some transitional pricing but knowing the way foxtel operates, I doubt it. There are now no other satellite options that I know of. There are some threads that suggest it is possible to use foxtel via MP using a phoenix card reader.

there is the option of fetchtv however -

Fetchtv - IPTV Set Top Box - Internet Television - iiNet Australia

I'm not sure if MP supports it.

No broadband option will help me unfortunately as me broadband is off a RIM. I am stuck with ADSL1 and I can't see that changing especially with the election going the way it has. :(

I need to find a Satellite service that can work without the priority box that Foxtel and Austra offer. Select was the perfect option. I wonder how people that only signed up recently are feeling.

In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...
