I'll have a look at this. Not making any promises though, as "my" .xml is just a reconstruction of Spragelknas' work. But maybe I can get something that I like and will then update the .xml with two versions, one for the "regular" RSS/Weather and one with this new plugin.

Edit: From what I've seen so far (just had a look at implementation possibilities) it does look possible. If not this weekend, during next week.

Too bad I don't use a Weather item myself on my Basic Home. I'm pretty happy with what I get from the RSS Ticker atm. I guess I'll have to switch out one of the other items to implement this new plugin. I guess I can live without "Settings".

I've decided to reconfigure/install my HTPC after one year with the old Mediaportal, so I checked out all the new skins and came accross X-Factor. Really liked it, but the basichome was too filled imo. Then I saw Emph's great mod and decided to continue on that a bit, especially with the graphics.

It's not yet finished (I have to reskin the Now Playing window) but I felt like sharing the current result, perhaps you guys have some good advice.

I've modified the basichome to display the same background for every menu-option because That's the way I like it. But it still shuffles between the backgrounds (depending on how much you have in the folder) every 2 minutes.

So here's a minor preview. And once again most credits go to Cul8er and Emph, I only changed the last bit.

It's based on Emph's mod in this topic, so pretty much the same. Seven menu options: TV-Series, Music, Videos, TV, Plugins, Settings, Pictures & Weather. Also features time&date in the upperleft, weatherstatus in the upperright and RSS-feed in the menubar.

How to use:
Unzip the files as usually. Note: the wallpapers are the same for all 7 menu options. I prefer that rather than seeing 7 different pictures in 7 seconds. The wallpapers change every two minutes. The wallpapers are located in \Media\general. I've included 5 scenic wallpapers from Interfacelift, but that's just for the idea; I'd recommend getting additional ones.

thats looks very polished, thats going on once i boot up the htpc

Thijs_O I really like your basichome, but i want to be able to point out diffrent folder with picture insted as you have made it. Is is possibly to make a request to you that you perhaps can make a basichome where i can do that (like in Emph's )
