I scheduled MediaPortal to record "That 70's Show" at 2:30? am in the morning. But this morning when I woke up and opened MediaPortal nothing was recorded.

Yes. I have it set to go to standby after 20 minutes of inactivity. I'm using Windows XP 32bit.

No it's not. Since it's not activated by default I decided to leave it as is. I was trying to get everything working properly before I started activating any plugins for troubleshooting purposes.
So all I have to do is enable it in the plugin section and that would wake the pc up for recordings?

Yes, it should.
You have to enable it in MP TV Server Config and in MP Config.

This is the part that has me confused:
Of course I would enable wake up to avoid it not waking up. But what about the shutdown part. I already have Windows go into standby after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Enable both shutdown and wakeup in the General section to globally enable both features. If you disable any of these options, it will be disabled for the MediaPortal client as well (only applicable for single seat installations)Of course I would enable wake up to avoid it not waking up. You can install PowerScheduler++ which handles shutdown by windows.

One last thing. Once I schedule a recording. Does MediaPortal need to be running for PowerScheduler to wake up the pc from standby to record? Since this pc runs as a server. I rarely have MediaPortal open.
Nope, not needed. As long as the TvService is running it will record.

I would like to be able to go directly to the Scheduled recordings window without having to first go to the home menu.

TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

I've set up Mediaportal TV Server on a Windows 11 box, tuner deteced okay, scanned channels, can preview, all seems...
Result, it works on the two PC's we use for watching TV :D I've not lost anything by the looks of it either, all channels etc still setup.
Just my office PC won't connect, which I only use for testing things anyway (I tried updating that this morning as well), but I'll uninstall and install fresh on that.
PS. Exported all settings...

I tried to install MP 1.35 this morning, but I couldn't get any further with the installation on the TV server, see error message...
