Hi, the configuration window is too big, doesn't fit on my 720p tv.
I can't see the Generate button, only partially.
My taskbar is hidden to make this screenshot.


Damn, now I see Configuration isn't usable at all Whenever I add something to one of the menus, one of the existing items will be replaced!! Extremely annoying.
Also, when I pres "G" since I suppose it is the Generate button, it says the xml is generated. Then I close Configuration. But if I reopen Configuration, everything is reset to default, like it was!?

BTW I did a clean MP1.0.2 install and installed Xfactor. No previous version installed. I installed the fonts and after that the MPI.
WindowsXP SP3.

You can make the window a little wider, then you can see all the buttons.

Ok somehow I didn't realize I could make the window larger
Now I also found the SAVE button!

I still have the problem that existing items get overwritten (wether they are selected or not, they still seem to be selected and thus be overwritten). But I did manage to create a nice basic home, going to test now.


EDIT:
more stuff:
- is it possible to disable menu 6? I only filled 5 menus.. but the basichome also shows menu 6 wich is empty.
- [BUG] In basichome, when I scroll to the left, after I reached menu 1 the 'cursor' goes to menu 3 instead of the last menu 6. In the config the default menu is 1.

- [REQ] is it possible to hide album art when there is no album art available? Because now you get to see a black square..
- [REQ] perhaps also nice if the music info would be on top of the visualisation and album art instead of below them (especially if there is no album art available).

Thanks for all feedback I really appreciate it. Some comments;
1. If running on 1280x720 all fits in Menu Editor. If using smaller resolution you must resize the window. I will look into this issue to get a better solution.
2. You must allways have no less and no more than six menues. Otherwise the complexity of the menu editor would be to big.
3. You must allways press Save button for saving your configuration for next time.
4. It is not a bug that when you reach the left most or right most menu and go one step further you will get to your Default menu. If running a video/tv and you go left or right this will get you to the video (now playing window). If you dont have a video playing you will go to default menu because no video window is available.
5. I consider to hide the music thumb if no album art is available in next version.

Please look at the FAQ thread where there are a section about the menu editor and for example the Save button topic is covered.

But isn't it a bug when default menu is 1 and not 3 but it still goes to 3? Even when no video and no music is playing? And even when I only play music?

Also could you check this? I thought it was an InfoService thing but see the response from catavolt.

I hope I am not being annoying, but check the screenshots. The one viewing Music shows a folder containing MP3s and I am playing one song. But unfortunately there is no Art available for these songs. So it is normal Art is not shown. But I did expect to see Visualisation in the left corner, or is that place always reserved for AlbumArt?
Ofcourse it would be great if there is no Art available, Visualisation is shown but perhaps thats a MediaPortal request.


The 2nd screenshot, I am playing a radio webstream. So there is no track info and no Art ofcourse... would be nice if both were hidden somehow

I have answered your question about the InfoServie in the thread you posted a link to.

About the going to menu 3. These are no "command" in MP so I can see what you have set to the default item in basichome. I only have an option that if you go left or right in the menu it will take you to one controll. This I have set to Video if something is playing (to be able to goto fullscreen). If nothing is playing, well then MP takes you to the default item as the now playing is not available. So I have no chance of improving this;(

about the InfoService, that is not skinrelated, catavolt misunderstood me.
(with Rssnews you could even read entire articles from the news website. RSSnews parses the website so you can read it in MediaPortal. With InfoService this feature is gone. You can go to InfoService and read the abstracts, but not full articles (websites). I used it a lot but it seems nobody noticed it)

I found a skin bug with lastFM
The reflection from picture/cover does not match.

Could it be possible that you would add a menu shortcut from "LastFM to myLyrics" and from"myLyrics to LastFM"?

cul8er: I suspect there's an error in the common.overlay.basichome.xml. When I have video (Moving Pictures) playing, it does look like in your screens, but for music, the album thumb is shown inside a poster shaped overlay, not a CD one. And when playing back TV Series, may I suggest that you insert the use of Season banners for that position, as the episode thumb rarely look good in that window?

I added this portion below right after the "video logo" part for the common.overlay.basichome.xml:
