    Hi,

Thank you. Is this from when you open the xfactor plugin in MP Configuration?

    Also, can you please tell me the answer to my question 5 above;
    5. When the menu editor opens look at the Available List. Does it contain any entries and if so what is the last one.

    best regards

    Hi,

Ok, then is looks like this basichome.old is correct and the problem is in basichome.xml

    Can you try this.
    1. Rename basichome.old to basichome_old.old
    2. Open basichome.xml in notepad and just press save.
    3. Try MP

    best regards

    Hi,

Done all that ... still getting that error message re Basichome.xml.

Looked in MediaPortal config and the XFactor Menu Editor. Basichome.xml is not listed anywhere in Available Modules. Last listing is arcsoftplayer.xml.

Also, when starting the Menu Editor, I'm still getting that error message re. Root element missing...

    Hi,

Yes, it is something with the basichome.xml. Can you right click on the basichome.xml and open it in Internet Explorer. If it is something wrong parsing the file Internet Explorer will mark where in the file the error is. Please let me know the error message, lines and so on, or even better take a screenshot and post.

    cheers

    Hi,

Then I don't have any more ideas. Anyone else running xfactor on Vista 64? If IE opens it ok then it is a good xml file. The basichome.xml is quite big, perhaps there is a problem with reading big files on Vista 64 with the MP classes, but now I'm really quessing.

    best regards
