Anybody else having troubles with r247 + Patch 1? I copied the patch over my install and now whenever I try to get back to BasicHome from a sub menu, ie. Music, TV Series, Moving Pics. it takes about 4 minutes for the BasicHome to appear, everything is locked-up.


Edit: Scratch that, seems it's a problem with the New Scientist rss feed - selected a different default feed and the problem has gone away

Hi

Two examples where icons in the last row are only partly visible. One place in Moving Pictures and other one in pictures.

Release 247 + patch.
Same on 240.

Can anyone else please confirm whether it is a general problem or something with my setup.

i have it the same , also in my trailer , it is general problem i thing . in big icon view ..

Hi,

This text applies only this time to fix a bug in the menu editor. After doing this and saving in menu editor it will save your menu in the data directory and all future upgrades will keep your menu. After a future upgrade just open the menu editor and it will load your menu. Click generate button and you will have your menu in the new version. This is how it has allways worked at my PC. So the import/export feature is not necessary. The problem here was that if the config file didn't exit it was written to the xfactor skin folder (due to a bug in MP) and hence was overwritten when upgrading the xfactor skin.

hi cul8er ! i find 2 bugs :
1- my trailer : when you click on ditle view from Icons view and Big Icons view thir is no bg see screenshot ...
IF VIEW DITLE VIEW FROM LIST VIEW OR FILSTRIP VIEW THAN DITLE VIEW LOOK O.K ONLY FROM ICONS AND BIG ICONS VIEW NOT .
2- online video : go to apple trailer to big icons view and ditle view the lyout is not in the corect pleace and no bg ..

I think I am guilty of the latter in bold. I just installed 247 over 225. The menu was present. But I did not make a copy/backup. I think it overwritten the current menu settings. Atleast the result in my case was that the menu was back to default.
So basically, I only need to backup the directory "data". An import/export function is not necessary, but it might be more user friendly...

4 The Record - Missing text in pop-ups

I've recently installed 4 The Record, and noticed that several 4TR selection pop-ups in the TV Guide section are missing text (as per screenshots below).

If I press the "OK" button over a guide program, the options pop-up shows all the text [SCREEN 1].
However, if I press the "REC" button, none of the recording options appear in the pop-up (only the numbers) [SCREEN 2].
Also, in the "LiveTV" section of 4TR, there is text missing from the small "console" in the bottom left [SCREEN 3].

I've noticed this with the last two versions of X-Factor (r240 and r247) - and I did empty the cache between installs. Is this some problem with only my system?

PS. On another matter, how do I uninstall an MPE1 version of the skin. I tried to uninstall via the plugins section of MP configuration, but get an error saying "Invalid Package". I ended up simply installing a new version over the top of another version. Is this ok?

I am also using 4TR but I do not have the same problems as you. All text visible.
Not sure what it can be. Did you install the font?

Not using MPE1 yet, someone else with advice on that question please?

Thanks for the reply rekenaar. I tried to reinstall the fonts (no change). I'm wondering, what version of MP/4TR are you using? I'm using MP 1.1.0 Alpha (with the latest SVN23316) and the latest 4TR (1.4.0.1). Are you using MP 1.0.2? Might be a problem with 4TR and the latest MediaPortal version.
