According to your system specs, your using XP. If you are using HDMI (you failed to complete your system specs), I think you'll have problems with 5.1 regardless of gfx.

Migh be with ATi only, so someone correct me if I am wrong.

Also a lot of the nvidia features are only supported in Vista\Windows 7 sadly, and if I was going to get a new card would at least get the 220, as the extra features, ie directcompute etc are worth having.

    Hello,
I completed my system specs, i am only usin DVI-D. THe GT 220 is not an option for me, because it's too difficult to get it silent or passiv cooled.
What about directcompute is there any advantage concerning Mediaportal ?

directcompute was a must for me, as I rip movies to HDD and transcode the video down a wee bit to 6gb filesize :)

Think that the 220 supports more video file formats for dxva than the 210 from some of the reviews on the 2 chips, also the 220 is 128bit against the 64bit for the 210, so significantly faster, certainly more ideal for running a directx program like MP

All the passive 220's are due in the shops shortly, a few have been reviewed already, so lets hope its sooner than later.

Also the G210 can't do Pixel Adaptive deinterlacing for HD material (if that's important to you).

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...

I compliment you on the thoroughness of your investigations. (y) Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas what the problem might be. :( Perhaps someone else will post with some suggestions. -- from CyberSimian in the UK

MP has adjustable audio delay. I don't know whether this works for all video formats, but it certainly works for TS files, and may work for MP4 files. There is a slider that allows you to adjust the audio delay while playing a video. Press the INFO button on the remote control to display the OSD, select the "Audio" icon, and then...

Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...

Many thanks for the answer. So far I've used Logitech's Harmony hub. This allows you to control all components (including the media portal). I have now contacted the Sofabaton hotline. It should also work here like with the Harmony. Unfortunately, not all of the IR codes are correct. You can also learn commands here. But that doesn't...
