When StreamedMP is uninstalled we dont touch your custom basichome configuration unless you check the box at end of uninstall to remove all user files etc.

If you want to be shure, you can copy your whole skin folder to another drive (usb stick, cd or another computer in your network) and paste it back after doing a new install.. I always backup my whole programdata folder of Mediaportal each +/- month..

The editor does not save your configuration into the skin folder, it gets saved with the rest of the mediaportal configuration files.

Pasting back old stuff on top of new stuff is not a good idea, I would only do that if it was the exact same version as before.

You only have to know what you can copy and replace, and wich files you can't.. Things like backgrounds, you can copy and replace.. Some other things you can't.. But you know the things you want to keep, so that files you can copy..

You can always copy and replace all files, and install the patch(es) that are coming out after the time you have backuped your files..

But the question of the topicstarter is only; "How can I backup my Home screen (and included backgrounds etc...) when uninstalling StreamedMP?"

Well; In my opinion, that's the only way to do a backup.. He is not asking how he can install those backup files.. Only how to save them..

Thanks for the replies guys. The reason I'm asking is because I need/want to do a clean Windows install and add MP 1.2. I'm now running MP1.2beta, but there are several issues* that have made me want to reinstall the whole thing. Ofcourse, I'd like to do so with minimal fuss ;)

So in order to be able to reinstall my backup files, I'd have to copy the folder, right? Are the backgrounds in there as well? (nvm, I can check to see for myself)

*for your understanding: codec trouble, new tv-card, MPEI thinks I have the wrong version installed, 'incompatible plugins' which clearly indicate they're made for 1.2 beta... (but these last two are probably linked).

It is present, but not with that name. It is called Scheduler, viz: Interesting. I had never noticed that when the "command" is "ACTION", the "cmdproperty" is the actual window id, but it makes sense that it is. Try this for yourself. First backup your working profile for the remote, then in the "Mapping" panel make a change to...

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
