How do I get the synopsis info while movie plays (1 Viewer)

You should map it to "Y" (on the keyboard ofcourse) which will bring up the the screen as displayed in the screenshot.

I did this last night. I mapped the Y key to the Thumbnail button on the remote. When I press it, I get the info/status bar to come up (with a thumbnail on the left and some buttons, such as subtitle, etc on the upper right), but NO synopsis text (even though the movie has such text). Is there another setting I must turn on or change to get the text to appear too?

Remote info button does this, cannot find any other way of getting to that screen directly.

did you change the default mapping for mce remote at all?

coz the way i see it, info button in InputDeviceMappings\Microsoft MCE.xml is mapped to action 24, the same action as the "Y" action in keymap.xml

i'm confused here..

If you're running StreamedMP skin, just pause the movie. The synopsis and progress bar gets shown.

make sure you have this option clicked, so everytime you hover your mouse to the end or on top, the information will show up

The idea is not to disturb viewing of the movie...

And not use the mouse, but the remote control...

The behaviour of the MCE remote, cannot be totally mapped by keyboard, as it has to many special instructions via the ehome driver, this includes a double press function for the info button, one of the reasons its recommended.

Do not even know if this works correctly using irserversuite or mce replacement driver.

hm, correct me if i'm wrong but i think mce mappings are no special instructions for mp.. they are mapped just as any other hid, via .xml file (InputDeviceMappings\Microsoft MCE.xml).. and the mapping for the info button is action id 24, exactly the same as for the y key..

ok, lets think mp and not mce for a second.. this mysterious behavior is maybe true for ms software but for an osd or any other window to show or for an action to be executed inside of MP there has to be a reference for it in the source code, it has to be called by *something* or some action id.. it has to be programmed.. no mysterious osd will show up in mediaportal out of nowhere because of mce remote press.. this sounds right to you? if it sounds right then it can be referenced by keyboard shortcut with no problems..
