Apart from the driver support, what functionality will actually be gained by the use of TVE3? When I read the WIKI, the only major feature that stuck out was MPEG recording

The ability to record more than 1 channel on same mux\transponder at a time springs to mind (whilst watching another channel same transponder), double that ability with the 2 cards and this is a pretty impressive feature.

Plus with TVServer running\recording, my cpu flickers between 0 and 1 % use and no mediaportal running unneccesarily.

Until those of us in the land down under get more than reruns and reality tv shows, these isn't a major requirement. We only have 6 TV networks and of these only 4 are offering more than one set of channels. Of these, only 2 are running a completely different set of programs on the extra channels. Of these, one is simply a collection of foreign language news shows.

Plus with TVServer running\recording, my cpu flickers between 0 and 1 % use and no mediaportal running unneccesarily.

Since the PC is only used to run MP, this is still not a major selling point.

Don't get me wrong. I fully understand the extra flexibility that the new structure allows for. But I have to admit that I would love to be able to simply plug the new TV features into the main MP client.

Just as a matter of interest, did you install the BDA hotfix to run more than 1 dvb card.

    Just installed it. No change.

The configuration program sees all tuners (the Hauppauge 2200 plus another Dvico HDTV tuner) and auto-tunes from all of them without any problems.

The client works as long as only one of the Hauppauge 2200 tuners is in use. I can record on the Dvico and one of the Hauppauge 2200 tuners at one without any problems. As soon as the client tries to access the second Hauppauge 2200 tuner, I get the following error:

Failed to start timeshifting. Unable to add StreamBufferSink.

Unless there is a way of renaming the tuner in MediaPortal, I am unable to accuately test the difference between using the first or second tuner. To the best of my knowledge, it works with either tuner, but only one at a time.

I have already added text which noonereallycares wrote to c\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\CaptureCardDefinitions.xml but everything is same. When I try to tune program on Analog tuner, the setup program freez. I have HVR-2200 but MP detected it like WinTV 7164 BDA. The same situation is when i tune Radio channels. I want to use FM Radio.
I creted two cards, both contain two tuners as I read in tutorial How to install Hybrid tuner card.

I haven't tried the analogue or fm tuners. Since I have a PVR 150 in the same system, and the Australian networks are due to turn off analogue transmission at the end of 2008, there has been no need to get these working.

The information that I posted was simply an attempt to get the old TVE to see the tuners. I have since given up and moved to TVE3. Apart from a few minor features (not tuner related) that have gone missing, I have finally got a MP system that is working correctly with the HVR 2200.

I can definately say that the digital tuners in the HVR 2200 work with TVE3. I have been using it for a few weeks. As previously mentioned, I am not using the FM or Analogue tuners, simply because I don't need them.

    Sadlo,

The radio Webstream card is not part of the HVR, this is an internal (software) card in TVE3 to make radio webstreams work. Looking at the picture of your configuration console, you have this under card 1, which is in error.
