MDAPI: Pros and Cons (30 Viewers)

I've been following this thread for a while now and would really like to see support for MDAPI plugins. Is there any betas/alphas/whatever working or partly working that you can share, Agarwal? I dunno how much progress you've done, but maybe more testing systems could help?

No real alpha/beta available currently, unfortunately. MP needs to be able to scan & store (at least) the ECM and EMM pids of each channels, as well as the CAID in order to get my filters working right and to support more configurations. As they are, they would only *kinda* work on a setup that's close to mine, ie, pointing to Nimiq1 (Canadian satellite).

Please remember that I haven't tried integrating my filters to RC4 yet, so I don't know exactly the changes that's been made since RC2.

The filters are/will be used in other (publicly or commercially available) projects of mine, which is why I can't open source them. Yet. "

Good enough for me. Does anyone want to work on an open source version that can be shared with the community? If not, I guess this thread is done. I personally don't have the time with everything else I am working on right now.

I agree with you, It would be better to have an open source solution or at least a solution fully maintain.
But we can support a temporary solution to prepare the MP environement for a final one.

I can enhance DVB storage tables/objects to store (manually in first time) the ECM and EMM pids of each channels.
Do you need other stored values ?

In any case, this work could be used by all (almost) present or future solution

A little status report please, when can we expect the excellent idea of a MDAPI-plugin or feature built in?

I bet that if you make a poll for that feature, ues/no there will be a overwhelming YES.

By the way MP is an excellent application. Thanks to all you guys and girls working on the code and extras.

If I remember correctly, didn't draktheas say that he would be putting his plug-in on hold until the new TV engine is in beta? There is no use in creating a plug-in if the current TV engine is going away in a couple of months.
