I would very much like the option of a My Pictures screensaver that automatically show floating photos (like Apple TV) when playing music.

If would be a fantastic addition to MediaPortal.

You can use the my Pictures plugin for this type of funcitonality (it does not work as a screensaver though. You have to start it manually).

To do this, put a playlist in a folder of pictures you want to use and start a slideshow from there. MP should play the music from the playlist and at the same time show the pictures.

It's not a particularly slick way of doing it, particularly if you have a lot of music and don't want to be restricted to just a few songs.

It also doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Apple TV floating photos show.

Thats true. The pictures module has not received much developer love in the last years I must say.

I've been thinking about this for a while too. Might be worth a plugin and it might also be nice to define what kind of music should be played, either by filter or playlist.
Basically there is two ideas here I guess. First a screensaver showing your photos and second music playing during slideshows.

Ken Burns effect appears broken to me too now I think about it. Might be a nice project

Would it have to be part of My Music (a "start floating photos" button, for example)?
