if so, i could start looking into this

also, give some examples where this could be used, atleast i cant think of any with my current MP setup

Define nice? Making it skinable of course will help, but do you mean to add any new functionality, lay it out differently?

been thinking about this some, on how to make it etc, wrote down some ideas

It would be realy nice to make it easier to input movie and ablum/artist/song titles. Maybe it's possible to link online dictionary's? This way it would be possible to 'predict' what is going to be spelled. Like with SMS. I know how I could do this with PHP/MySQL and javascript (Ajax for short), but do not yet have the knowledge to do it woth C# and be sure I do it the right (stable and efficient) way.

I know this thread is about the keyboard looks, but this popped into my mind and wanted to share it anyway.

I'm confused, doesn't the current on screen keyboard allow SMS style input?
And since the key graphics are in the skin it should be possible to change the keystyles. I admit that it's not absolutely flexible in layout and position, but isn't that just about it?

Always happy for improvements, just wondering the exact direction they will take.

As far as a virtual keyboard goes, I'd love to see one in the tv guide "search" page.. I usually know what show I'm looking for when I do search, it would be easier to type the name in with my remote than to scroll through the many menus.
