    Hey Cheezy!

Would it be feasible to add a feature to iPimp whereby we can run a batch file on the iPimp web server machine or client using the web interface?

No one got any ideas on how this might be possible? Maybe not even using iPimp?

I just need a way to run a batch file on my TVServer from my iPhone.

    Possible uses...
    - Stop and restart the tvserver service remotely
    - etc etc

    Regards,

The difficulty is the context in which iPiMP runs, it runs as a windows service with no access to the current logged on users console session which you'd need to run a batch file. The one example you quoted above is already available in iPiMP (TV Server Status -> TV Service Status, then use the Stop & Start buttons). If you've other specific suggestions then I can look at adding them.

Hey Cheezy, thanks for the reply.... The main thing I'm trying to do is run a batch file on my server that stops my wifi security cameras from recording and then another batch file to start them up again. The software that I use for managing the cameras doesn't have any form of nice iPhone interface.

I suppose a good mp use might be to manual kick off a batch file that downloads tv guide info? This is something all us new zealanders have to use...

It is present, but not with that name. It is called Scheduler, viz: Interesting. I had never noticed that when the "command" is "ACTION", the "cmdproperty" is the actual window id, but it makes sense that it is. Try this for yourself. First backup your working profile for the remote, then in the "Mapping" panel make a change to...

It's getting weirder..... If I remove all the IP cards in the TVServer setup and then add them back I can scan the M3u and tune the stations but if I rescan it on the same card it just keeps updating the 1 channel. My brain is melting.........

If you use a VPN connection to your home network, you should be able to use the MP client to connect to your server natively instead of using MPExtended.
