I added a request to StreamedMP@google and got the reply to have a look at this plugin:

it is not released yet, but to me looks great and will have support for StreamedMP from start!

I just hope either myself or trevor have access to it so we can improve the skin support...it does look like a great plugin.

Problem is that you need a Spotify premium account to use this new plugin...
