If you take suggestions I would like to see bigger movie pictures in this layout. They seem a little bit small now.

Thirst of all welcome back and sorry to hear that you lost all the originals...Anyway glad you started over.
About pictures which are kinda small I share the feeling of Oddan and also want to mention that the same goes for the music view in film strip view.

So if you agree you might want to consider making them a bit bigger.

Also including the Year tag of a mp3 in the album name would be a great feature for me!

Great work Psycho-Reptile ;) With joz fanart mod it is nearly perfect for me.

@joz: Is the collapsed text all i must copy to basichome.xml for the fanart thing? Does it work with monochrome, too? Btw how do i make a collapsed text? :>

You should replace the bg control that's already in basichome with the collapsed text (which you put in [ collapse ] tag btw, if you want to use that). Or leave out the bg control that's in the collapsed text and paste it after the bg control. Either will work.

After that it looks for fanart in /skinname/media/animations/<imagepath> (movies is a, <imagepath>, music etc.)
This will work for both indigo and monochrome.

Now I already changed it around a bit cause I thought it was stupid to have the bg control in there 2 times (which was needed to have the indigo look when there's no fanart), so on my current setup I also have fanart for news and the server button I use to wake the server if needed (which are just plain images instead of multiimages). So for me I always see fanart, do not use a mouse so all controls have their associated images.

p.s.
If you can't choose between the 2 themes of this skin, like me, then hard linking xmls and maybe some graphics will save you some work when you're editing the skin. No need to copy paste the changes anymore then.
I use all my skins like that actually. StreamedMP is the mother skin and other skins use junctions and hardlinks to access "shared" graphics and also xmls. Saves some valuable SSD space for me :)

Great new design, I really love it :) Keep ut the good work!

Btw has anyone experienced that MediaPortal freezes upon closing the OSD? Not everytime, but often enough for it to be annoying. This has suddenly happened after I started using Monochrome 3.0, but I'm not sure that is the main reason. The weird part is that the image freezes and the sound keeps playing in the background, but I cannot control anything.

Good to hear you are back and are going to improve the skin. I like this skin as this is the most clean and professional looking skin for MP. I was always looking forward for the new versions, but after trying 3.0 I was disappointed and for now I'm back on 2.9 for several reasons.

1) Menu - I think you have focused on the new simple menu with the animations and completely forgot the normal menu. The simple menu is maybe nice, but this MS look & feel with animation is something I do not like - I think it is unnecessarily complicated. So I hope you improve the normal menu to be as simple and nice as in 2.9.
2) Moving Pictures - is completely unreadable because of the opaque effect on the thumbnail. And more, as there is no background below it cause a free space for movies without the coverart, which agains makes difficult to select the movie I want to play.

I hope you will be able to recreate the skin as for me it is the most clean and professional looking skin for MP.

About point 1 nobodies holding you back to use 3.0 with 2.9 basichome. Just copy the associated files to the new 3.0 skin.
Since other users will disagree most definetly with you on this point (I know I do) I would not like to see (unless it will be some sort of config setting or extra provided file(s)) basichome reverted back to the old style.

    @ rak

@ Everbody else, just sorting out some TV screen errors and adding support for one or two requested plugins. Filmstrip views have all been enlarged ;)

@ HD junkies :p, I'm also working on redoing the xmls and gfx to be 1280x720 compliant :D

AFAIK, 1280 scales perfectly to 1920. It does for XFactor anyway. I'm really looking forward to the Basic Home editor for your skin, as I'm terribly picky about what items I have on there.

I've done a few MP1 installs in the past and haven't had a problem, so I didn't expect one today. I just purchased a mini PC with Win11 installed. I downloaded and tried installing Mediaportal 1. I chose single click standard installation with no TV. It started working on things and I wasn't paying terribly close attention, but...

When I tested MP 2.5 some months ago using TVE3.5, I found that "scan for channels" failed to find any channels when I selected a DVB-T2 tuner (a TBS 6284) :(, but succeeded when I used a DVB-T tuner (a Pinnacle 2000i) :). Obviously the Pinnacle found only those channels broadcast in DVB-T MUXes (in the UK we have both DVB-T MUXes and...

I was not previously aware of the "Drive Free Space" plugin, and it is not easy to find. (There really ought to be an easier way of finding plugins.) There is this thread that introduces the plugin, and this thread that details some changes to the Titan skin made by Gary Martyn (from 2013  ). I installed the plugin on my Aorus...

Most (all?) small PC cases accept only ITX motherboards, which have only one PCI-E slot. So you could install only one PCI-E tuner card. A quad-tuner card would give you four tuners, but if you wanted more tuners you would need to use the TBS eight-tuner card, or use external tuners, either USB tuners (available with single or dual...
