AW: Re: The Future of MyFilms?

Guzzi please, no more features, we need a final version 5 :D
Anyway the possibilities of improving the plugin are limited by AMC. If we really want new features we would need a new version of AMC with custom fields

Agreed - at least no more features right now - maybe more later. I would love to see additional features like trailers and other enhancements. But they can all wait, in my opinion. I would rather get a good working v5.0 first, then come up with ideas for future releases.

Zebons - Do you have a "google code" site to track issues? That way, ideas for future versions/bugs/enhancements can all be listed, sorted and prioritized. Just a thought.

Looking forward to a final v5.0!

Thanks for all of your hard work.

    Z3US, Mattrony,

I know :) - and maybe I was not clear enough - this is not for next offical 5.0 and I do not want to put work for Zebons on that before next stable release is done! (as I promised before). Focus IS on release the 5.0 as it is now only with bugs fixed as soon as possible.
I should have posted this somewhere else (I suggested Zebons to open a separate thread for "features") - or google code as suggested...

This would break compatibility to ANTDB-application or require a modified Version, that supports additional database fields, I don't think this will happen ...

Me too looking forward 5.0 release, I am very happy about this new version - thanks to Zebons for that !!!

As mentioned, I would be willing to help on code side (also fixing the remaining bugs for 5.0) if sourceforge repository gets fixed :)

Gregor - As far as I know, B3W skins for v4.9.1 aren't done yet. The skinning will be updated when the plugin is finished. Which should be soon.

Hey, I have a question. Is there any way to filter out non-present movies from the list?
I used to store movies on HTPC but as their numbers are growing, some of them have to be moved onto external storages.
Now I don't want to have them in the list unless their storages are connected. I noticed that option 'Switch view' contains "Storage Harddisk" but I have no idea what does it reflect. When I select it I see all my movies.
For other reasons I maintain a property field "borrower" within AMC which fileds describe the location of a movie, but I don't know how does it help.

I appreciate any working idea :)

    Hi vrm,
MyFilms does not by default monitor your drives continously, thus it doestn't know if your files are available or not until you try launching them.
So best solution would be to mark them (e.g. "Offline" instead of "Harddisk") and use either a view for that or a second databasedefinition with a filter that does not show those movies (while they're still in the DB).
You could also define the property you want to use as "Ant updating Items" and change the content via remote on the TV.

Edit: While it's a bit old, most things still apply from wiki page:

Where? How? In "switch view" option I see HARDDISK but what is that? I can't see that word at all neither in AMC nor myfilms configurator. Is it refers to an AMC property field? To which one?

or a second databasedefinition with a filter that does not show those movies (while they're still in the DB).
You mean that I should configure a second configuration with the same movies.xml but I should use the "Ant Selected Enreg." option? Yeah, that could work :D

    Well, it's actually working!

    :D

vrm: Good to hear you got it working.

zebons: Any news on sourceforge update?

Last Update of MyFilms was on 8.4., but it references to amcupdater:

    <Reference Include="Grabber, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, processorArchitecture=MSIL">
    <SpecificVersion>False</SpecificVersion>
    <HintPath>..\..\amcupdater\grabber\bin\Release\Grabber.dll</HintPath>
    </Reference>

The AMCupdater directory is still old (made compile based on latest available code) and it does not contain the changes required for latest MyFilms code - may I kindly ask for an update ? :)

    Thanks, Guzzi

    AW: The Future of MyFilms?

Here my modifications for b3wide because the b3wide skin is not included in version 4.9.1.
I changed the files MesFilmsDetail.xml and MesFilms.xml to have reasonable b3wide skins for MyFilms.
Please see this as temporary solution until Zebons has finished the b3wide skins.
    Usage:
After MyFilms installation copy all its b3 skin files from skin\Blue3 into the skin\Blue3wide folder (don't forget the files in the Media subfolder). When done replace the files MesFilmsDetail.xml and MesFilms.xml with the attached files.
May be not perfect, but is much better than using the b3 skin for b3wide.

Attention: be sure not to copy other skin files - only the those for MyFilms!
If you are not sure, open the MyFilms v0.4.9.1.mpe1 with e.g. 7zip and take the files from there.

    Have fun
    Gregor

    Hi Zebons,

I assume you are busy, but could you please be so kind to post the latest grabber.dll mentioned above? It's not available in sourceforge and the code there is old also (tmdbgrabbing does not work with this code).

Or even better: could you post (or update sourceforge) the code for latest MyFilms (sources from after 8.4.), latest AMCupdater (souces after 19.12.2009) and latest grabber, dll (and grabberutil, if you have it)?

Thanks a lot in advance, :)

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

TV Server plugins are listed on this page, and "EPG Cleaner" can be downloaded from this page. Note: I don't know what bitness the plugin has. It might be 32-bit, or it might be "any cpu". The plugin is not listed by the "MP Extensions" tool, so I don't know whether it has been tested with the most-recent MP releases. -- from...
