    AW: Re : AW: The Future of MyFilms?

    Hi Zebons,

    one more thing that came up since long time - and maybe there is a fix possible:

    The ANT-DB-Field "date" only has a date included, e.g. Date="03.03.2008"

    If I add this field as a custom property (e.g. item1), in the skin it is displayed "03.03.2008 00:00:00"

    Is there ny possibility to only display the date, not the time? Or can this be changed in the skin or other settings?

    Thanks, Guzzi
    Try to use the DateAdded Item instead Date.

    I use that already (thought, it's referring to the date field in ANT-DB):

    except from MyFilms.xml:

    <entry name="AntViewItem2">DateAdded</entry>
    <entry name="AntViewText2">Hinzugef├╝gt</entry>
    <entry name="AntViewValue2">
    </entry>

    Zitat:
    Second: the runtime is hardcoded in the plugin to display "mn" - could this either be defined in the languagefile or changed to " min"?

    I'll take a look on

    Thanks for changing that - but could you please add a space in fromt of "Min" - currently it displays:

    75Min

    I think it is preferrable to have:

    75 min

    Re Logos: last Update did it - Logos are back!

    Did not yet test genrethumbs and backdrops, will do later.

    Guzzi

    ... now did some tests with genre views:

    Genre thumbs and Genre fanart is working - tested first for year, genre, country.
    Then I tested custom view - actor - wohoooo - it started to create a directory for each actor and had an exception - see log below.
    regardless of the exception: having several thousand directories for actors again makes the directory very big - even bigger than the moviefanart directora.
    So either there should be subdirectories under "_Group" for "year", "genre", "actor" with the appropriate subdirectories created - or the fanart for a certain view should be all in one directory. Advantage of subdirectories: You could assign individual backdrops for each item - e.g. actor (which makes only sense, if it is pulled automatically via a website...)

    So what about a combination of both:

    having a directorystructure like this:

    <Fanartfolder>\_Group
    <Fanartfolder>\_Group\Genre
    <Fanartfolder>\_Group\Genre\{action}

    or

    <Fanartfolder>\_Group\Actor
    <Fanartfolder>\_Group\Actor\{John}

    With the logic from most specific to less specific: If in the view "actor" view pictures in the directory, if there is no picture, use picture in "actor" directory as fallback/default.

    Don't know, if this would be a performace issue - see my post regarding delayed loading of artwork to make this less critical !?

    But still it could be several thousand directoryentries - don't know, if this could be a problem.

    Further finding:
    In an Genre view you don't adapt the logo-files - thus last logos are displayed. You should either show no logos at all - or the matching logos, e.g. when there is "comedy" in the list highlighted, show the apropriate logo according the rule for ID2002.

    Here is the log from exception:

    in this view, the list also stops at that "invalid character" - and the #nbobjects is not properly updated - might be caused by the exception, because the latter worked in old version.

    Guzzi

    PS: The issues with actor view are not critical imho - I don't use it anyway, because it's too big - instead I use the "search by actor", that works much better - but just wanted to let you know, because the mechanisms might apply to others too

    New version :
    - grouped fanart stored in subdir folder of the fanart dir (ex : z:\fanart\_Group\category\{action}\backdrop.jpg). So group Fanart are now separated (in sudirs) from movies bacdrops.
    - specific languages files (stored in the <MediaPortal language>\MyFilms). Delivered in that package for French, English and German.
    - backdrop correctly displayed for grouped views (only category, year and country).

    Can't confirm that - did you test with Blue3 screen (NOT Blue3wide) - all other skins are not yet adapted.

    Hi zebons,
    very nice work - this rework also fixed some minor bugs I didn't report yet :)
    Did short testing and found one little bug:
    If there is no fanart at all in moviefanart directory, there is an exception in the MePolog (no functional problem and no crash):

    Hi Zebons,
    While I found that above exception when no fanart is available I realized, that the AMCupdater did not load backdrops for several movies - although it exists on TMDB.
    Reason is, that the naming is not matching.
    I also found an update menu in MesFilmDetails where I can choose to update fanart/backdrops.
    But this seems not to work for me - can you please give me some explanations on how to set it up properly to make it work?

    And one suggestion: Would it be possible to show another dialog when calling the "update - fanart" with prefilled moviename where the moviename can be changed/edited? This would make it possible to get proper fanart via the GUI even if the naming is not matching - what do you think?

    For the first point (mediaportal execption) i'll take a look about.
    For the second in your mind, that new option'll be available with AMCUpdater, with the manual plugin update or both ?
    The directory in the fanart path must match exactly with the Title name used as master Title. However for finding Fanart on themoviedb.org site, the title given'd be different. But it's not easy to do, but I'll try.

    Hi Zebons,

    It's clear, that directory must match the master title - and it does automatically, because the directories are autocreated by you, aren't they? (So in case, the title is changed, you would autocreate a new directory with the new name, right?)

    The problem is, when pulling fanart from TMDB and the title in Mesfilms does not match the title on TMDB, it doesn't load any fanart.

    Example:
    Local title: Star trek 11
    Naming on TMDB: Star Trek

    My proposed solution would be to allow a dialog before handing over the mastertitle to AMCupdater and thus using a modified name - while still storing the fanart in the directory of the directory with the mastertitlename.

    On the above example:

    I choose "update" - "Download Fanart Backdrops Movie"

    and instead to run AMCupdater with "Star Trek 11" I get a dialog prefilled with the Mastertitle and change it to "Star Trek" - which is handed over to AMCupdater and properly pulling the fanart.

    Where? I think this makes only sense in Mesfilms-GUI, when only updating fanart for single movies - in AMCupdater usually users run updates for the whole DB - and it would make no sense to interrupt each request by a popup ;-)

    Guzzi

    Edit:

    Uhhh, while thinking about it, I understand your problem: AMCupdater would store the fanart in the "modified name"-directory, because it doesn't know about the original mastertitle ... arghhh
    Ok, it would be possible, but some more work: You would have to give AMCupdater both names - "modified title" for search and "original mastertitle" for location to store artwork. Hmmm, this might be quite some work and change in AMCupdater, don't know if you want to do that ....

    PS: Correct e, if I am wrong - I am not sure, if I fully understand how the integration of AMCupdater in mesfilms works - my understanding was that "update" - "fanart" is only meant for the current movie - while the scheduled runs do update the whole DB!??

    Edit: merged multipost ....

    Hi Zebons,

    I have one more remarks:

    - Language Files:
    Thanks a lot for the inplementation, makes the usage for other countries much easier.
    Found one inconsistency though:
    In mesfilmsdetail.xml there are two labels "hardcoded" - this is "first" and "last" (ID106 and ID105). I changed them to german in the skinfile for my personal use, but wuld be more consistent to have it in the language file.

    Edit: deleted question about multiimage control - got a hint from tgx how to solve it to keep fanart "dimmed"...

    ... and just checked my config and realized, that the plugin did NOT use the original title, but instead the translated title to create the directories - the reason is easy: I have configured the plugin to use the translated title as mastertitle and the original title as secondary title - so the easiest improvement would be to retrieve fanart for both titles (mastertitle AND secondarytitle) and also check fanart for a movie for both?
    But: I also checked AMCupdater - as far as I understand, this tool runs "standalone" (if not used with batchprocessing) - and it seems to use translated title for retrieving fanart by default - didn't find a possibility to change that ...?

    Hi zebons. Thnk you for your work. I want to comment two things:
    1- I agree with guzzi: it should be possible to use ANT secondary title for searching fanart . I havent yet tested the new fanart feature because...
    2- About new AMCu, Im getting this error when I try to add a movie:

    AW: The Future of MyFilms?

    Hi z3us,
    I had that exception in AMCupdater also on first use - I used then older utils.dll and core.dll and even had to use old grabber.dll - don't know why - but now it's working fine even without grabber.dll and with latest DLLs - I use the new AMCupdater on the mediaserver (not in MePo Dir) with only utils.dll, core.dll and mediainfo.dll in the directory and selected one of the new (attached) scraper xmls (ofdb).

    PS: Oh, I use near latest SVN versions (selfcompiled) of those dlls - there was some changes especially in core.dll - maybe this also made trouble with AMCupdater?

    This is the files I use with timestamp:

    22.03.2010 12:59 <DIR> .
    22.03.2010 12:59 <DIR> ..
    15.03.2010 22:12 <DIR> scripts
    12.03.2010 18:43 784.384 AMCUpdater.exe
    22.03.2010 12:30 4.911 AMCUpdater_DefaultSettings.xml
    16.03.2010 12:16 4.911 AMCUpdater_Settings.xml
    20.03.2010 02:10 2.269.184 Core.dll
    28.02.2010 21:44 2.224.128 MediaInfo.dll
    20.03.2010 02:09 102.400 Utils.dll

    In mesfilmsdetail.xml there are two labels "hardcoded" - this is "first" and "last" (ID106 and ID105). I changed them to german in the skinfile for my personal use, but wuld be more consistent to have it in the language file.
    Please use (added in next package)
    <String id="1079872">First</String>
    <String id="1079873">Last</String>

    Edit: deleted question about multiimage control - got a hint from tgx how to solve it to keep fanart "dimmed"...
    Which one ?
    ... and just checked my config and realized, that the plugin did NOT use the original title, but instead the translated title to create the directories - the reason is easy: I have configured the plugin to use the translated title as mastertitle and the original title as secondary title - so the easiest improvement would be to retrieve fanart for both titles (mastertitle AND secondarytitle) and also check fanart for a movie for both?
    But: I also checked AMCupdater - as far as I understand, this tool runs "standalone" (if not used with batchprocessing) - and it seems to use translated title for retrieving fanart by default - didn't find a possibility to change that ...?
    Searching is done with Original and Translated Title. Priorly with Original' one for best results as Movies are often known with it.

    AW: The Future of MyFilms?

    Hi Zebons,

    coming back to the "date added problem" - I would need some more help here...

    I have defined in Myfilms.xml:

    except from MyFilms.xml:

    <entry name="AntViewItem2">DateAdded</entry>
    <entry name="AntViewText2">Hinzugef├╝gt</entry>
    <entry name="AntViewValue2">
    </entry>

    And in Mesfilmsdetail.xml Skinfile:

    <control>
    <description>Optional Display Field 2 Prompt</description>
    <type>label</type>
    <id>1032</id>
    <posX>520</posX>
    <posY>320</posY>
    <label>#label2</label>
    <textcolor>90ffffff</textcolor>
    <font>font14</font>
    <width>200</width>
    </control>
    <control>
    <description>Optional Display Field 2 Value</description>
    <type>fadelabel</type>
    <id>1033</id>
    <posX>730</posX>
    <posY>320</posY>
    <label>#item2</label>
    <width>535</width>
    <textcolor>ffffffff</textcolor>
    <font>font14</font>
    </control>

    Label is fine, but value shows e.g. "16.11.2009 00:00:00" - could you please check, if that is the format you export the value from the plugin? I would suggest not to export the time, because it's not filled anyway by AMCupdater!?

    Thanks,

    Guzzi

    TV Server plugins are listed on this page, and "EPG Cleaner" can be downloaded from this page. Note: I don't know what bitness the plugin has. It might be 32-bit, or it might be "any cpu". The plugin is not listed by the "MP Extensions" tool, so I don't know whether it has been tested with the most-recent MP releases. -- from...
