The Future of MyFilms? (2 Viewers)

Hi,

on my system the problem with displaying "editem" after going to the detail view exists still. see https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-films-164/future-myfilms-74261/#post549381 .Is this true or is something wrong with my installation

I have the same problem. When backing out of the details screen - the title no longer appears - it just reads "[genre]editem" where [genre] is the current genre I am viewing. I have looked at the skin - but can't figure out where it's coming from.

Did you check with 4.9.x beta from this thread and attached Blue3 skin (don't use, Blue3wide, if it's on your system, it's an old one, currently only Ble3 is updated to latest plugin)?

Just ran it again. I have the same problem with the Blue3 skin. It works at first - but when I back out of the details screen, I get the same problem. Instead of the title of the movie - it shows "[genre]editim"

I looked for a log but didn't see one for myFilms.

Is there anything else I can do to show what I am seeing?

You get surely the end of the word #selecteditem; isn't it ? But I cann't reproduce it.
Do you get all other information ssociated with your movie (synopsys, covers, logos...) ?
Is your movie selected in the list ?
Do you use a view by list, icons or filmstrip ?
Do you use keyboard or remote ?

Try to describe more precisly your situation.

I did some extensive tests some weeks ago - and found that there is "interaction" with other plugins.

I am quite sure, that on a clean install of MePo and only MyFilms added, this is NOT appearing.

Catavolt has suggested some time ago here to change the exposed properties in another context, e.g. instead "#selecteditem" to use "#myfilms.selecteditem". I did some changes on the source and recompiled the plugin based on the (old!) sourceforge sources and that fixed the "(select)editem" problem, although it was not 100% clean and gave ma some other problems.

I think the way to fix this forever would be to change the context in a "clean, pluginspecific" context as catavolt suggested - this will almost 100% make sure, there will be no conflicts with other plugings using same namings.

I would be willing to help adapting the skins - bacause they also would require change.

I am currently away in north germany, so can't do further tests, when I am back tonight or tomorrow I can give you more details about how to reproducce the problem - as far as I remember I had "intercation" with TVseries plugin - and I just read, that OneButtonMusic seems also to use "selected...." wording for exposed objects ...

To answer your questions above (I currently do not have the problem in my config):
All info in plugin is displayed properly, when entering "mesfilmdetail"-screen, also diaplayed properly, after returning the described problem occurs - so using details-screen causes the mentioned problem.

can you also check if you have tvseries and/or onebuttonmusic active? if you remove all plugins and readd them step by step you can find the one, that is the conflictig one...
(No need to deinstall, just move the dlls from pcocess and windows pluginfolder somewhereelse. Renaming is NOT enough, they will be loaded even if extension is other than ".dll" ....

I can confirm that the conflict is with the MP-TVSeries.dll

That's what I discovered some weeks ago - and did some changes with selfcompiled mesfilms.dlls - But currently I don't have the problem anymore, so might be helpful for Zebons that you give exact details about versions used (I am running latest stable TVseries, latest beta MyFilms and latest Disasteredition of Mepo - that includes lot's of fixes of MP itself done so far).

Especially "selecteditem" is a kind of preserved property of MP exposing the actual value of a selected item in ALL screens of MP - independent of the plugin in use atm. Therefore I made that suggestion a long time ago (although this would mean that skinners will have to adapt there skin files, but this can be done in an instant)

.... and because skinfiles need adaption for new version anyway, it's a "good opportunity" ... and the changes in the skinfiles are very easy anyway
