thanks. still workimg on that but i think i have sorted it. was trying to use watch series in online video so looked up the website and downloaded a media player that i was missing and now it works. amazing.

There is a System.NullReferenceException coming from TvPlugin.TVHome.OnPlayBackStarted(MediaType type, String filename).
What MediaPortal Version and OnlineVideos version are you using?
Just for testing: Disable the TV plugin in MediaPortal Configuration.
And to make logs easier to read: Your should not paste them in the post, but upload the log files to the post (there is a button below the textfield...)

Fixed, I think.
Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this.

I've recently retired my MP2 setup for my main HTPC and gone back to separates, but I wanted to retain the ability to play...
here is a small update:
it is probably not due to the Windows update. I ran a new transmitter scan and got the same result. MP no longer starts. Then I got the fuse back and everything works again. A simple reinstall of MP does not bring a solution. Maybe I should reinstall MP from scratch. However, I need a lot of time for this...
