Ok, i'll try with the latest svn when i get home from work.

Eabin:

Are you using your .dll or the one in the svn ?

tsreader or not ?

Installed the latest svn's. Seems like my tsreader problems are gone now. Works in both SD and HD channels. Channel switching is now down to 4-5s from something like 6-8 before. Still got the CI/CAM problems with the TT card i suspect.

EVR works in SD channels. Black screen & no sound in HD channels though.

have you tried using another audio codec? i am getting all sorts of strange behaviour when using the Cyberlink audio decoders, one of them actually even crashes mediaportal when switching from SD->HD. SD->SD works fine though. I'm using ffdshow and I have a rather stable system now, i have been running EVR and switching back and forth between SD and HD without any troubles today.

ok, so i got my new TV-card today (big thanks to digital everywhere for writing drivers that actually work!), and i am able to reproduce the problems when switching between SD and HD channels, when the picture freezes, but sound continues to work.

i will do some more testing, and hopefully find something useful.

edit: i just installed latest SVN version, and now everything seems to run beautifully. i can switch between SD/HD as many times as i want (tried about 10 or 15 times), and no problems.

edit2: sometimes it takes about 10 seconds for the sound to appear. the picture change is always very fast (big thanks to the developers for making zapping that fast!). and sometimes after the sound starts playing, there is a picture freeze for another 10 seconds or so, but when i wait long enough, both picture and sound are fine. this happens only when changing from HD->SD.

Joining or not is up to you .
Your actual work is nice for Mp and must be included, that is..
Maintaining it away from the team needs some of us to track and apply any changes you could do, while you could do that yourself . I don't know anything about your own motivations but i doubt you'll just stop on this single dll , though it's not a pleasure time....
Again that's up to you , what you are doing , did , or will do is enough for us to offer you to join . What you wanna do is another thing, door is open .
Yep i know that hw acc is only working on vista
In any case , using evr with dx 9 / win xp and a not dx10 compliant graphic card may isn't worth to use it ...just a personnal opinion.
But i'll try it anyway since i guess i hyave to , before commiting it.
Feel free to hit us on irc or in PM's here , you're welcome .

I've tried ffdshow, both the audio codec and as h.264 codec. Same problem. Perhaps this problem will go away if a get a new TV-Card. TT doesn't seem to have the best trackrecord when it comes to drivers.

Sorry but i don't find a VMR9.log even in the folders you mentioned before

I used your trace version of .dll, startet mediaportal and tryed to start one of
my .ts HDTV files with h264 codec.

I use the PowerDVD Ultra codecs for h264, mpeg2 and audio ...

Before the movie started with mostly audio but only black video, when i went
back to MP skin and stopped the movie MP crashes. Now using your .dll the
    movie even won't start ...

I tryed CoreAVC for h264 and Microsoft MPEG and DD Decoder, here i get maybe
1 - 2 seconds video a littlebit longer audio but then nothing. Going back to skin
works but stopping the movie results in crash of MP.

the vmr9.log will go to "c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\log". if there is no log directory under "mediaportal", please create it. (see this thread a few pages back, for more info on how to find the logfile, which is unfortunately a bit difficult and should be fixed). the situation you posted says something about a side-by-side configuration error (in which case no vmr9.log will be created anyway), which we had before. broceliande nailed it down and i could fix it, so:

Broceliande: could you please give as a hint how you found the cause of the side-by-side error under XP?

Laban: If it works in VMR9 mode, it is very unlikely that the TV-card would be the cause of your problems. The real bad thing about this is, that I cannot reproduce your problem, and the logfiles don't contain any useful information about it.

    Hi,
Have EVR working here now with vista x64 & the log are in "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log" (had to create the dir) it should be in "C:\Users\All Users\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log" but it's not as pr MediaPortalDirs.xml.

Anyway seems like theres a mem leak with 10 -20 mb / 30 mins, have to check where this comes from later.
Keep up the good work ;)

    Regards
    Roy

I'm going to try and remove all my codec packs (including PowerDVD), the Haali media splitter and everything else that might (or might not) have anything to do with this problem. I'll probably start by installing just the ffdshow package after that and go from there.
