Ok, I'm going to answer my own question. I have added the timezone, which was missing, to the uk grabbers. Added the following to the xml file :
GMT Standard Time
in the appropriate timezone attribute.

i have the latest versions of MediaPortal and SkyStar2 drivers.

I can confirm this problem. This is what i did:
- Uninstalled previous MP installation (0.2.2.0) and 'deleted' Mediaportal folder (i actually just renamed it)
- Re-installed 0.2.2.0
- Installed SVN snapshot from today (12.41pm)
- Ran Configuration.exe and set-up Mediaportal how i usually have it
- Ran Mediaportal
- Closed Mediaportal...

Sounds like the wrong audio pin is being connected.
I take it your using driver 2.11.2.1 and application 1.4.30
Very strange, you could not get any video with MPV and MPA codecs.
Also installing the application should not have effected whether MP can use or not, BDA drivers are usually enough.

I had the same issue last week, and in fact the only solution was reinstalling winXP and not updating the lates XPupdate...only SP2 and the latest drivers...thats it
