I don't know if it's something in my system, but when I use Name it sorts by Track/Artist/Album, which is not really what I want. Sorry.
It would be good to be able to sort by Artist. I guess this is one for the wish list. :-)

On my side I have MP 2.1.0, I defined Step Forward and Step Backward actions, and use the built in engine, but it's doing nothing when I press the corresponding keys... Maybe I missed something in the config, what should be set ?

I had no idea this existed. That solved it for me. It's not as pretty, but at least it is way faster than before. imo the grouping should be enabled by default, as it gives a better experience for new users.

I got MP up and running this afternoon and so far I'm loving how much more responsive it is than MCE! I imported my 20k song music...

tried it with sonique viz and also g-force.

You can define a folder for playlists, and access this through the My playlists button... This applies to svn, cause there has been some changes in that department.. But still:
- Config - Music - tab playlistsettings. Choose your playlist folder.

Some of the files on my computer don't have a relevant tag, tho, for instance, jam sessions from my musical friends. Nice to know how to get rid of that art...

When viewing the album view in MediaPortal, the albums with album art are all nice, but the one's where the album tag is missing...
MP always reads v2 tags first. Only when not present it falls back and uses v1 tags.

Does it take any longer for MediaPortal to read mp3 ID3v2 tag information than it does reading ID3v1?
