There used to be a bug where this was active all the time, but that was a very long time ago. Now I'm pretty sure the screen saver is disabled during full screen video and only enabled in other screens.

This is a known problem. As soon as the plugin accesses the MceIrApi it interferes with HIP (which is also using the MceIrApi). There can be only one process accessing the MceIrApi at a time.
