Not sure what is causing the problem. The devs should be able to answer.
Presumably you will already have all the other required software installed, so you can try to extract the separate mediaportal and tvserver exe installation files from MediaPortal_Setup_1.0_RC2.exe.

You need an MCE remote receiver (USB). The reason I suggest this is because its the most straightforward option.
Your Harmony can emulate pretty much anything but MP does MCE 'out of the box' with minimal tweaking required, so thats definitely the easiest option Im aware of.
