Add scrobble support for Live TV / Recorded TV (1 Viewer)

I got a forum reminder that there were replies in this thread. I apalogize for not sending the XML as I promised, I totally forgot! Look forward to testing though, curious to see what happens since my EPG does not have episode numbers.

That's alright, nothing will happen if your EPG does not have season/episode numbers. It will assume its a movie and just fail.

Hi All,
i want to share my experience with the tv live and recorded .

seems it send shows to trakt even if i watched 1 sec, not as i read in this thread after 80% of complete viewing.

very very often it send wrong show to trakt and very often when it send the right show to trakt it have wrong episode or serie number

How can i help to narrow this issues and send you useful info to fix it ? ( i can't find nothing special in logs )

there is a way to make the epg parsing customizable ?


seems also the option to leave clean colelction in trakt is not working...it always send shows to online collection.

HI mrmojo666, its sends watching state immediately, but it will send watched only after it thinks its either greater than 80% or equal to 0%. The check for 0% was put in as sometimes the player state in mediaportal is not accurate but typically this is never zero under normal circumstances...maybe after 1sec of viewing I could be wrong due to rounding.

The only way to help you is to enable debug logging and let us know what you think the correct season/episode number should be so we can compare with what is in the log. Maybe your EPG is reporting incorrect data, but I dont know this unless I see the log.

The EPG parsing is not customizable, we get the episode/season info directly from the API. The only parsing we do is for movie titles to extract the year info.

just a thought about epg , epg is always correct also episode and series number in description, are you parsing the description? or you are using special fields in epg ?

We are using the special fields in the EPG. No parsing of this data, is this not something your EPG provider is capable of?

i' ve found the problem it is in myxmltv epg grabber that is using base 1 for the ep and ser numbering, but MP needs base 0 numbering. correct that in my grabber configuration file now it is working ok.

Yes, when LiveTV is implemented we will only scrobble after you have watched 80-90% of the program.

So it will probably work like this. You will turn on tv or switch channel, we will wait a small period of time and confirm you are still watching that channel and then send the watching state...then after a period of time (depending on progress/duration) we will either send a cancelwatching or scrobble (watched) state.

I noticed the same. I have zapped only for 5 - 10 minutes to a channel. On this channel the Series "New girl" was showing and it was scrobbling after this time to trakt.tv. This Series will takes 30 minutes, so I haven't watch the Series for 80 %.
