Cul8er, well done - best skin around by a long shot.

I am using 1.1Beta on 1920x1080 HD plasma and have a few problems.

1. Text overlap - it looks as though the font is too large in titles or there is a positioning problem. This is throughout the skin, see examples attached:

Thanks Flip - should the installer not have done this.

I searched and cannot find a Fonts directory to put these files into. I tried puttng them into the main skin folder and deleted the cache but no change. I tried creating a folder in the skin directory but still no change. Only thing I can think is that I have to change the font sizes in the Font xml or the size definitions in the main xml files but surely then this is a bug.

Please let me know if I am missing something obvious here.

You have to INSTALL them in Windows. If you're running Vista or Win7, just right click on the fonts and choose Install. If you're on XP, copy the font files into C:\Windows\Fonts (this works on Vista and Win7 as well of course).

When you're done, you have to delete the cached graphics for XFactor from your Cache folder as usual.

Unfortunately the new fonts are not much better - think it may be a scaling issue on 1920x1080. seems to be ok in many areas - main problem is TV guide, recordings description and weather summary in main menu screen (see also the overlap in now playing area).

It seems to me that your DPI settings are set to bigger than default in Windows. Are you aware of them? In case not, they are available from you Display settings somewhere.

Thanks Emph, you hit the nail on the head. I changed the DPI ages ago to make windows more readable from a distance when I jump out of MP. I also have ATI graphics. I did not think it affected MediaPortal.

Text issues all resolved - in fact removed the Xfactor fonts as the bold titles were too strong on a 50 inch screen. I also changed the guide colour from green to blue which I think is more easy on the eye. See attachment.

The TVGuide looks great. Please attach your blue image. I would love to use it in the next release.

Noticed that the .png couldn't be opened?? so attached it again as a jpg.

Edit: OK just worked it out - png is OK... still learning!!

Feature request: Is it possible in the Music NowPlaying screen to have the information bar with info minimized as the Video OSD and bring it up by pushing up twice (to see the fanart better)? If not, I will see if I can do a contribution to the User Modification thread soon.

I'm not sure that this is something that I will do (like the current design) but if you make a MOD and it looks great I will certainly see if we can include it in the skin.
