Maya Feature requests (1 Viewer)

Hi!

I just love this skin. It's bright and 'easy on the eye', in short it's a happy shiny skin that even my kids like.

My watching position is approx. 5 meters from a 42" plasma, just so that you get the feel for how I look at the world, or in this case the screen, which might be the same, well... anyway...

I don't use the basichome so I missed some things in the MyHome.xml like weather information and the shy clock that I found hiding behind the RSS ticker. I also can't stay without the clock in more or less all the screens the is for television, I'd like it to be pressent at all times and preferably in the same place, which can be a bit of a problem, but still.

The miniTVguide is far to small so I changed mine to 10 rows of information (you should realy split up the background image for the miniTVguide in a top and a bottom section, would be much easier to make it the size you like).

I bet that you without any problems can squeeze in 2 or maby 3 more rows in the TVguide too without cluttering the screen to much.

I do like the REC icon that showed up in the top left corner but I do have to say that the latest StreamMP that use a pulsing red icon is just so cool. A combination of the Maya REC background and a pulsating red dot would be realy nice.

So far my 'home made' changes are:
Weather icon, temprature and condition in upper right corner on MyHome with some nice delay and fade-in effect to it.
Bigger RSS field and text on the bottom of the MyHome screen.
Unhide the clock in the MyHome screen.
Almost changed all of the miniTVguide to 10 rows (missing the bottom part of teh background).

I'd love to post some screenshots if I only knew how to make them from MP!

Will my ideas be considered for the 'real' Maya skin or will I have to 'mod' my own copy of Maya every time there is a new release.

Anyone want my xml files?

I do look forward to the next release of Maya and by the way I can't realy make heads nor tails of the trunk repository over at googlecode, is everything realy there or are som files left out?

hi Zapp ! to mack a screenshots from mp you just need to push F11 button ,the file same in my picture , the file save as PNG file
wich little big size ,so you better convert the pictre to JPG ...

abut xml file ...sure upload them ...

Thanks Jonas,
We are offcourse interested in your mods. Please make some screenshots for us to review.
If we like it we will implement them into Maya.
A new version of Maya is on the way. Keep an eye on this forum.


btw. To make a screenshot just push prntScrn (printscreen) on your keyboard (the screengrab will be in your pc's memory). Open Paint (or photoshop), paste and save the image.

Here's a couple of "now playing" fixes. A couple of localization fixes(incl. overlay)

These can be considered fixed: Issue 118 - mamp2 - Now playing - top album track button faded - Project Hosting on Google Code
Issue 173 - mamp2 - Track Tagged With Label Showing too much in Now Playing - Project Hosting on Google Code

Is still present:
Still missing: start musik > enter now playing> Album pops up after few seconds instead of now playing. (maybe MePo bug)
Going from now playing back to listview some labels show, cover (missing).

Fixed MusicTrivia. Now working with v. 2.

(Translation, overlay, position, missing label etc. fixed)

There will be a fanart edition later on when it's possible

Modified DialogNotify.xml as this was only showing one line. Probably broken other places as well, now fixed.

Support for FileExplorer 3.0.

Please note that this aint't done yet. There's a problem with the plugin using the ID1 which make this horrible to fix in skin. When it's fixed i'll provide an update.

OnlineVideos has had a fairly major update to its skin files, as you can see from the svn link below:

mp-onlinevideos2 - Project Hosting on Google Code

offbyone has implemented an OSD and FullScreen facade for OnlineVideos that shows buffer amount in the progress bar. There is also a new skin file for the Updater, so that the site updates can be managed within MediaPortal. It would be great if these could be added to Maya.
