I seem to be having various crashes with this plugin enabled. I've added the rss all title feed and current weather to the myhome.xml file. I eventually get out of memory errors or the main screen locks up (alt-f4) ends it.

Log uploaded looks like a directx problem

Hi!

I've found that since the latest version (1.5 public), the plugin does not correctly handles the "recently added" properties.
Using Black Glass Nova skin, in basic home, the controls using the recently added properties do not work anymore. From the log files, it seems that that the plugin receives correctly the data from TvSeries plugin, but afterwards it does not "render" them on screen.

Could you please have a look at it?

why does weather info does not appear in advance home ?

and why does the cursor must be in weather icon in orther to view the weather info? shouldnt it appear all the time?

Those are skin settings - i.e. that's the way the skin you're using (looks like B3W?) has been designed - you'll find that each skin that uses this plugin uses it in a different way.

being B3W the default skin i guess its a good idea the plugin developer makes sure it works for this skin to get to the mayority of users.

any chances this will be added?

edsche includes the B3W BasicHome screen in the installer but obviously not the advanced home screen. As a skin designer you have to make a call and decide what you want to put where - you'll never please everyone, that's for certain. I guess edsche could add an option to have Infoservice showing on the advanced home screen during the install process but then it comes back to how much time he has to do that - I'd say that developing this plugin takes up a lot of it. I'm sure he will reply with his thoughts on this though.

With regards to B3W, I'm not sure if it is used by the majority of Users, and even if it is, it is "limited" in a lot of ways. As a MP user if you want more out of your MP experience you have to look to other skins which offer features such as Fanart support, better use of the InfoService plugin, advanced menu screens (such as a Games menu screen) and obviously a whole range of different "looks". If you want to try a skin that has a "blue" look but is much more advanced I recommend the either Maya or aMPed, they're both great skins. There are a whole range of skins out there which you may have already tried and decided that B3W was for you but I thought I'd just add this bit to my reply

The B3W is surly not the best, but i think it fits for the most people out there. The place on the basichome screen is not that big, so i thought it would be good to see the weather not every time.

As Bleazle said i want/can't spent so many time on the skin development. The plugin development of the plugin itself gets already to much time from my side :/ But feel free, and also other users, to make your own complete skin for B3W InfoService. I would love to see the result and would also add that to InfoService.

Thanks for pointing that out. There are some really weird things going on with that thing. I've debugged everything and found out that InfoService prepares all Properties right, but MP will not recognize them, if they are called from a skin file. The Properties are there and filled! At the moment i don't know where the problem is. I will try to debug some MP code. Perhaps i will find some clue.

Looks not like an InfoService problem. I think you've made some changes on a skin file or you use your own skin. Just have a look how the other skin developers implemented the #infoservice.feed.titles. I think there are some special conditions in how to use the fadelabel control.

Thanks for the excellent plugin.

Could you have a look at my logs? After resuming from standy I reiceive a message like "Downloading feeds and images ...". I assume that my network connection is not available instantly after the wake-up. Maybe a "delay update after resume for x seconds" could help.

This could be indeed the problem. A lower refresh time of feed would help or you can manually update the feeds after standby. But i will look into that. I think the delay time is a good idea

thanks for your analysing of the problem regarding weather forecast InfoService variable.

Today I'm coming with another issue of this plugin. All texts from plugin correspond with language selection except information about wind direction. The abbreviations of the cardinal points name are still english. Pleas look towards the pictures InfoService and MyWeather, for example today situation. At The InfoService test picture is direction "SSE", at MyWeather picture is direction "JJV". Both are right, but 1st is English and 2nd is Czech. There is curious that other part of string of the InfoService wind direction and speed is rightly Czech.

first of all dont get me wrong, im not complaining at all just suggesting as i find it a very nice plugin.

as for B3W advance...i would say that having TODAY weather under MEPO would be nice or even in the top left in little. and a scrolling bar under the whole menu for rss feed.

i know that the lack of work is important but just saying that it would be nice if you can make it happen some day.

i would love to start my htpc and in the first view to mp know the weather.

thanks for your work. i wish i could program this myself to share it but dont have skills.

btw, B3W is the default screen to most new users, and i would say advance mode is the most used also, so maybe ...someday...

Getting this error on the "Entension Installer"... Using MP1.1RC2.. Happens on both Vista 32 and Seven 64.

Similar message also shows up when installing Black Glass on the MPE1 installer.

Hi,

can you please check the file system permissions on "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer" ?

This means, open explorer, right click on this folder, check security settings. The question is, if "Everybody" has "Full Control" to this folder?
