never seen an issue like this before.

    1. Where is the picture from at the bottom of the TV. Is it a stuck frame from the same channel or is it a different channel?

    2. Does this happen on analog or dvb-t or both.

    3. Does it happen all the time or intermittently?

    1. It flickers at a very fast rate, slightly faster than I can capture what's on it.

    2. I only have analog in my country now :(

    3. It happens for all channels all the time.

I wonder if this is interference, have you tried the tvtuner in a different slot further away from things like the cpu, video card, power supply components/transformers. If you have aluminium foil you can put aluminium foil inside an empty cd/dvd case and place that between the tv tuner and the other hardware. or even better one on each side. just an idea.

Oh yes, previously it was at the PCI slot in another computer, same problem. Now I shifted it to my server and it only has one PCI slot, can't really test it in this server. Could it be drivers of the hauppauge hvr1300? I am having problems with Corrupted Video frame / Pixellation as shown in the guide as well. It comes up every about once every 10 seconds.

it would help if you could use any software that came with the card and see if you have issues with that as well. You could try the WinTV software that comes with the card, if that also has problems then either it is bad drivers, faulty card or poor reception/bad signal. If WinTV works perfectly then you know it is a MediaPortal problem.

WinTV and MCE, only stuttering problem in both recorded and liveTV, I suspect it's the card then. This bottom screen problem only in mediaportal.

Recording TV does not usually produce stutter unless there is something seriously wrong. This is because recording hardly uses any system resources (with the exception of software analog encoders, which is not relevant as the hvr1300 uses a hardware encoder). Playback (decoding) can introduce stutter if the software is not setup correctly or if the playback hardware is not up to spec.

Sorry. I don't know what is wrong with your setup and I don't know if it's a faulty tv tuner, bad drivers, bad signal or a MediaPortal problem.

The only other helpful thing I could suggest is upload a sample 20mb recording to www.sendspace.com for us to check out.

    [2013-08-05 09:36:35,297] [Log ] [7 ] [INFO ] - Set Framesize to 720x576 succeeded

Something doesn't seem right there because NTSC is usually 720x480 and 29.97 fps. The screenshot in the first post even looks like a 720x576 frame containing 720x480 video. Please try again:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go to the settings for the tuner.
    3. Set video standard to NTSC_M.
    4. Set frame rate to 29.97.
    5. Set frame size to "720x480 NTSC ITU-601 D1 (recommended)".
    6. Go to the "manual control" section.
    7. Click "stop service"... then "start service".
    8. Try to view the channel in MediaPortal again.
Steps 6 and 7 are really important.
If the above settings don't work then please post new log files from the TV server.

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

Thank you for this tip! I'm moving MP TV Server to a new machine. I installed the 64-bit version and most of the MP firewall rules were set to Public. I couldn't connect to the new TV Server from my old single-seat installation running 32-bit until I changed all MP-related firewall rules on the new machine to Private. Before I did...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
