I have to admit that I have resorted to using MultiShortCut plugin to start Skype.exe using the argument "/callto:username", to make videos calls to specific friends (I have a multishortcut plugin item for each of my main friends).
You need to also setup Skype to automatically start the webcam, and setup a remote control key mapping to a couple of Skype Hotkeys (to answer call (green teletext button) and hangup call (red teletext button)), and also map a button to kill Skype to let you return to MP (since the Skype process doesn't stop when you use ALT+F4, it just minimises to the task bar).
It is far from elegant, but it does allow me to make video calls using the remote control alone from the comfort of my sofa. However, it doesn't allow me to receive calls on an ad-hoc basis.
Having a proper Skype plugin would be excellent!

I don't think the formal skypekit .net is far off, since there is a pre-release version already on the streets. I am not a dev, but I would have thought that it would be far better (and lower risk for the future), for the formal skypekit to be used.
As you can see XBCM skype and it works quite well and it's a shame that the evidence
with us still problems was enough for me to the same voice at the beginning and chat and where possible implement image .
I want to have that! :-D

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.

Using latest 64 bit MP1......for some time.....no problems!
Now find that video has no audio.....but TV audio is fine...
OK....perhaps impatient of me I know, but went for a full reinstall....and now up and running once more.
