Is the file in the first post still valid? What should be done with the existing "caiway" file (with different file name)? Is this one obsolete?

The file in the first post is not valid anymore. Please find attached an updated file (One frequency is added beginning of February).

The existing Caiway-file can be removed.

I tried the above xml with the latest svn. But id missed a couple of channels. For instance HD MyZenTV(? with the beachviews and music) is not present.
I copied a other globalxxx.xml and changed (replace_all) the symbol rate to 9600.
Ofcourse it took an extra 5 minutes, but I dont care about that. Took long in the old days as well, as well as a painfull finger by pressing a button.

This in mind, do we NEED to be so precise with the local scanning settings? The frequencies <40000 are all empty ofcourse, so those arent needed. But leaving the rest gives us flexibillity when Caiway makes a small adjustment here or there.
    Just a thought. :)

    [edit]
Just to add to my last idea. Caiway is intending to change some things this year. A lot is happening (or done). No analogue signal anymore to free bandwidth, add HD channels. Giving some room for all these alterations is maybe a good idea to prevent people from filing bug-reports stating they cant find a channel or two.

Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.

Thanks... So annoying. I didn't notice it had stopped working and missed some recordings. The version number still seems to be 1.7.2. Hard to tell that the file has been updated. Sigh. I stream a lot of it now anyway. Good question on mc2xml.exe & schedulesdirect. I donated many, many moons ago for schedulesdirect support. I...

Update: Problem solved! The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal. The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...

I used to use the grabber but a few years back it disappeared on FreeSat DVBS. That is when I changed to EPG Collector. The extra benefit is that it collects from the Sky platform so it will give EPG for all the FreeSat channels plus the unencrypted movie channels on the Sky platform. It also allows me to pick the channels dedicated...

In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...
