    Another issue: The black screen
    This happens (for me) when:
    1. i start watching tv
    2. i stop watching tv.
    3. i start watching tv again
Now.. screen is black, but audio can be heard

    See log2.rar for details

    Note:
    At 17:56:18 i stopped tv (step 2)
At 17:56:49 i started tv again (step 3)

    vmr9.log shows some errors:
19-07-2007 17:56:50 [d98]ERR: Could not get IMFClock interface

i finally found the bug. it was a stupid mistake: dividing by the count of drawn frames in some IQualProp function. this would lead to divisions by zero when this method was called before a frame was drawn.

i will post updated sources (then already using multimedia timers instead of sleep for smoother playback) later tonight.

frodo: if you want to test it, just remove the Log() line in get_Jitter(...) near the end of EVRCustomPresenter.cpp.

edit: another thing i just noted: VMR9 deinterlacing is accidently commented out in VMR9.cs:563 (my fault). could you please uncomment it, and surround the call to SetDeinterlaceMode in VideoPlayerVMR9.cs:224 with "if ( !GUIGraphicsContext.IsEvr )". Thanks, Eabin

What sort of video hardware is required for EVR? I already run Vista 32bit, and I have an XFX 7900GT. I was told by someone in the IRC channel that I would need an 8500 or better, but I don't see why, I use EVR in KMPlayer in Vista, and it works just fine.

Indeed, EVR will work but without a DX10 video card you will not get any hardware accelleration.

OK, I get it now. It was you Comm, btw, who told me this in IRC.
    (I'm _Spekkio_ there)

However, I installed PowerDVD 7, and ever since, I've stopped using CoreAVC because PowerDVD7's performance was superior. Are you sure my card cant take advantage of PureVideo. I know I don't have the superior VP2 these newer midrange cards have, but I have the VP1 (same as the 8800GTX), so shouldn't I get some performance benefit, even if it's not as good as what a VP2 card would?

VP1 will accelerate H264 videos too, just not the full pipeline, but you will see improvements over software rendering. under vista you will need EVR to get the benefit - under XP it works with VMR9 and DXVA1 too.

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

I would have to know more details, and ultimately, I'll have to test it when I get my new display, but an AI answer I got (I don't trust AI and this may not be correct) was that HDR is encoded with the HEVC codec and I know MePo uses the HEVC codec to play 4K UHD Blue-ray discs. So, there is at least the possibility that it will work...

Greetings to all Denizens of the land of MediaPortal... It seems our Zap2XML/GraceNote access is broken again. I (as many others) have been using the latest NewZap2xml_6 and it has worked flawlessly. A few days ago it all died. I wonder if anyone is working a solution to save the masses. I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
