vmr9.log should be under log/ relative to the startup directory of mediaportal.exe (depends on your shortcut settings). normally MP should be started within "program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\", but maybe this is different on your installation?

edit: i think you need to disable DX9 exclusive mode, since this won't work together with EVR yet. usually this should have been disabled automatically, but please give it a try.

are you using any plugins that "mess" with the picture, such as the crop-manager? they are known not to work too.

My MediaPortal.log file is located under c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal/Log

    No vmr9.log file there though.

Not that i know of. I also set the crop settings back to 0 just to be sure that that wasn't causing the problem.

are you able to play recorded TV? i have no way of testing HDTV at the moment, because my FloppyDTV will only arrive next week (Twinhan doesn't work under Vista for me)

    I'm curious too.

Off topic: Especially about the tv-card. Thinking about replacing my Technotrend 3200 cause they don't seem to have the best drivers/support. And it's going to be a Floppy DTV (S2) or a Hauppauge WIN-NOVA-HD-S2 + their USB CI.

The ProcessMonitor reports NAME NOT FOUND when it tries to create (Operation = CreateFile) this file:

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Log\vmr9.log

I changed the execution for MediaPortal.exe so that it run's as as Administrator. Same problem.

Edit: i also noticed that it says "FAST IO DISALLOWED" when it tries to open the file. The MediaPortal.log file is created successfully so i'm guessing that it doesn't use FAST IO then.

the usb-ci seems rather iteresting to me too. especially if it can decrypt channels received by my other cards (one twinhan and one knc) which work fine with FTA, but are causing all sorts of troubles when used together with a CAM.

That's the same problem as i have. And i'd like to see how the encrypted channels work on the TT S 3200 using the USB CI instead of the TT CI..

Anyway, this is a bit off-topic. Did you see the part about FAST IO DISALLOWED that i added in my previous post ?

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

I would have to know more details, and ultimately, I'll have to test it when I get my new display, but an AI answer I got (I don't trust AI and this may not be correct) was that HDR is encoded with the HEVC codec and I know MePo uses the HEVC codec to play 4K UHD Blue-ray discs. So, there is at least the possibility that it will work...
