webepg and MP (1 Viewer)

Is there a way of scheduling webepg to run using the XP scheduler while MP is running? If I try to execute webepg.exe while MP is running, webepg crashes.

Yes i use XP's own scheduler to run WebEPG.

Mine runs fine, with MP also running.

What Version of Mediaportal, are you using, as in later versions WebEPG can be scheduled to run, from the plugins settings within MP setup.

I'm using 0.2.1.0
I configured the WebEPG grabber plugin and that seems to work ok but I'd be curious to know why I can't run Webepg at the same time as MP. Even when I try to execute it manuallly it crashes so the problem doesn't seem related to the XP scheduler.

i get the same problem. it's a 0.2.1 specific bug - doesn't happen in svn's or in previous versions, so you could rollback to 0.2.0.4
I got around it by making a windows script which closes mp, runs webepg, then restarts mp - then i scheduled the script. works ok-ish.

ok, here's the script:

It'll need customizing if you want it to work - specifically the path to mediaportal. I could only get it to run using shortened folder name for whatever reason, so you have to make sure the two C:\Progra~1\Teamme~1\MediaP~2\ lines are correct for your system.
Then I simply schedule a "wscript.exe updateguide.vbs" command to run each day when i'm at work

Same problem here. I believe that the problem is that Media Portal 0.2.1.0 locks the WebEPG.log file and when you want to run WebEPG or WepEPG-conf they crash . I've been wondering why EPG stopped working since I installed 0.2.1.0, now at least I know why.
