I've been using that codec posted above by Bassmo for a week or so, and it does seem very stable, but it gives terrible picture quality on my system compared with PureVideo or ffdshow. PureVideo stutters occasionally and sometimes suffers from picture freeze, and ffdshow crashes to the desktop every few minutes...

When I try to play any video file in MP the file starts, but it is "minimized", but not showing in the lower left corner. And If you press the fullscreenbutton you get picture for a second. But then it dissapears again.

take a look at the plugins section of the MP configuration. You can turn on/off the Play DVD option.

But I have discovered some weird things:
First during playback of an DiVX now and then the video seems to stop.
My plasma tells invalid scan frequency.
When I press pauze and resume playing it is OK again.
