ok so i am using a dvb-s twin card setup and non-hd works a treat hd nearly there and dvd and video are spot on.
the problems that i am having are:
1. channels that are on some of the time (bbc three,four,hd) will crash the sytem when they are not broadcasting i think there should be a place holder but there is not!

No, i actually deinstalled MP - twice - using add/remove programs. So i believe the xml was deleted to.

'Upgraded' to RC3 however now I cann't watch TV. I scan the channels ok on both DVBS and DVBT however I cann't preview or watch TV...
When I check the log I can see that the server streams on a strange ip address: 10.239.0.1
The PC's normal ip address is: 192.168.1.9
Now it work :-)
I had installed Gbridge on the server and Mediaportal saw Gbridge as and network adaptor - and used the ip address for Gbridge. I uninstalled Gbridge and now Mediaportal works...

I have also been experiencing the no rating/votes issue for quite some time now (over a month). There has obviously been a change in IMDB XML which needs to be updated on the grabbers. I have used the "update Grabbers" function on both RC2 svn's and now RC3 and none of these updated scripts work...

Windows is media center 2005 with rollup 2 installed.
I've tried to uninstall wmp11, but because of rollup2 i can't remove only wmp11.
Any ideas as how i can get mediaportal to recognize that wmp11 is installed.

Yep, just install the latest version of MP.
When you are asked if you will be watching HD TV, then answer NO. This will install the original built in engine.

One thing I have noticed is that mediaportal will fragment the absolute f@ck out of your HDD when it timeshifts and records programs. I analized a full 320GB HDD of recordings...
