I don't know if the current situation is permanent, but at the moment the description is in both the EPG and the mini EPG...but one of the channels took like 1 hour before any description was populated in the EPG...

Highly likely, but which bit could be very hard to pinpoint, might not just be associated with the graphics, but also the agp of the motherboard, also could be cpu\bus speed.
Unless you could borrow a DX9 card to test, do not think the expense justifies buying another card, without updating the whole setup.

You need to stop any video playback before resize (alt-enter).
Otherwise MP may crash (should not), this is a limitation of DX9, which MP relies upon, MP2 when it comes out in the future will not have this limitation.
But please remember this is htpc software, so is primarily designed to run fullscreen, so no dev time is going...

i believe the problem was solved for me by uppdating to .NET 3 red package. Hope this helps other with the same problem. ;)

I now setup the latest Catalyst drivers (8.8), and set the FFDShow resize to 1280x780. The jitter is gone and the movie starts to play nicely, also in EVR.
