ok heres how you relieve yourself of this annoying problem.... you have to remove the detected cards from config and add them again...add the composite chan and it'll work...boom boom

Short update:
-VMR9 works(normal Videos play via VMR9)
-WMP9 and DX90c reinstalled from redists
-BDE Drivers do work(WinTV2000 does timeshifting)
-Still getting errors from CLSID {51B4ABF3-748F-4E3B-A276-C828330E926A}/quartz.dll with that DDraw not present HWResult
Solution was to turn off the exclusive mode in the VMR9 renderer
Short update:
-VMR9 works(normal Videos play via VMR9)

When I did a reinstall I pointed to a save directory on another drive with some previous recordings already in it. I made a new empty directory on the same drive, then re-installed, now works fine. Re the Standby issue I realized some time ago that my HTPC won't go into standby if the TV is still running. The simple solution is to go back to Home and always press "Stop" before standby.
