I have done a bit more investigation into this issue this afternoon.
It seems as though Mediaportal is reporting the width and height of the video wrongly. This would explain the scaling issues.

If you have Win XP then it has a pretty good built in "system restore" function.
There's no simple way to roll back fro driver issues or codec issues if the "driver rollback" function in windows fails. Did that fail?
Otherwise, ghosting your machine is a good option, but you'll lose all up to date guide data and recroding...

You need a fairly recent version of MP (less then 3 weeks old approx.) as PowerScheduler had a bug where it skipped some recording types. There was another bug or two but, if not all have been fixed in recent SVNs and 02.3.0 RC1.
PowerScheduler may not be suspending if you have timeshifting on at the Home screen(?) You can tell if it...

I think the problem is that the device id changed in recent drivers.
You need to open the capturecarddefs.xml file in the MP root directory.
Look for your card in there and check the device ID.
Now go to hardware manager in windows and check the device ID there too. They should match (remember that < will appear as > etc)...

I did see this working at one point after my first install but have never been sucessful since. Im not exactly sure what I have changed since then, I think installing AC3 Filter was the biggest change.
Any tips guys will be very helpful, there must be sometime im overlooking.

AFAIK it means that the pc will wakeup when mediaportals _front end_ (GUI) is not running. The server part (back end) has to be running before the pc goes into standby or hibernate mode and will continue to run after the pc has woken up.
