The PVR-250 is the older model (numbers are wrong way round, go figure) which uses more chips and is more expensive. You can still get them but when I ordered a PVR-250, I got the 150MCE which I have now. Hauppauge said exactly that as well.

As long as your main monitor resolution is low (480i, 576i) you shouldnt have too much problem. You have to be able to clone it on the the little screen. Text maybe a little hard to read though.
If you get it from a fairly large store they usually give you up to 2 weeks to return it if your not happy with it ;)
