I've got a LC11m too here are my comments :
Since my htpc is in the room where I sleep I had to change all the fans (including PSU's one). For me they where far to noisy. Now I can sleep without any trouble since my HTPC is running sooooo quietly.
Main problem with LC11m is the mainboard. You don't have many choices with...

Hi there. I too have the same problem.
I have recently purchased a GeForce 6200, whose tv output is a non-standard 7 pin micro din. The interface cable which connects to the tv out has a whole plethera of connectors which are a standard 4 pin S-Video out, a phono Composite out and three further phonos one each for Red, Green and...

At the moment I would lean towards a s939 in the MSI ATi200 motherboard, but I have been reading about nVidia's new 6150 chipset which is especially made for HTPC applications. It has begun shipping now and should be easy to come by in the next couple of months.
I know that the 939 chip uses more power than the Turion, but thanks...

As I said, I could go with the VGA to the VGA input on my TV, too. But thank you for the link. (Newegg shows some for $60, too!)
My resolution with the Ti4200 is something like 1024x768, but not exactly that- 1176x664, IIRC. I'm using the VGA-VGA agian right now and it's always been fine, just not that super-crisp I'm expecting...

There's not really any economical way to do this. There are all sorts of adaptors, but they are all pretty expensive as there is a lot of circuitry involved to do this.
It would probably be better to simply buy a new TV, sorry...

Hi everyone, I'm new to this, and am interested in making my pc a part pc / part htpc.
I have a Geforce 6600GT graphics card with dual output, so I'm thinking of mounting my 19 inch monitor on the wall, and using it strictly as the media portal screen, and buying a small 15 inch monitor to use on my desk for email/browsing etc...

Re: On plasma, DVI and HTPC
Quick quetion about this: I've got a 50" Sony (50A10) that I had connected via VGA, but I just switched to DVI-out to the HDMI input (DVI-->HDMI cable) with the hopes of getting a better picture.
Are you saying that this will not be possible?
My current resolution, btw, is 1176x664 @ 60Hz.

I like the silverstone cases, abit bigger that the one they used but airflow is nice and still acceptable in the living room.

Does anyone know if its possible to use component out from the VGA port on the built-in video on this board.
I have searched around but unable to find information and the ATI HDTV adapter doesn't show this built in video card as being supported.
I would appreciate some info on how people are hooking this up to TV's.

Thanks for your replies guys.
Thats excellent news about the cool'n'quiet and the onboard video.
The ram on the jetway sounds great buy I think the jetway board will not work in a lc11-m case due to the layout of the pci slots.
Cant find much info on the RS482M4-ild (in english!!) but i'll keep looking.........

I can say the Twinhan DVB-T with Common Interface works fine, I use the card with a Irdeto CAM. I have the card for 4 months now, and with the latest releases of MediaPortal it works without any problems. I read anywhere else something about dvb-t radio support for this card, I hope this will be done in future. In Windows the radio...

Have you tried adding the capture card under Television>capture cards in the setup module (not in the wizard). If I remember correctly, you were able to add it as an S/W card, but I not sure if it was that way and if you still can in the current version. One thing is for sure, your card isn't mentioned here...

You may want to check out the VIA SP13000 motherboard instead of the MII12000;
Its only a little faster on the clock rate, but its memory performance is much better; Also it has an updated video interface on board.
I am currently using one of these motherboards in my CarPC and reasonably happy with it.
Hope this helps.

The PVR-150 will not output video so youll need a seperate vidoe card. Its still fine to use if you can get yourself a PCI version of the Nvidia 5200. Thats a DX9 card and should work nicely but it would also depend on the speed of this system you want to use.

A little sidenote:
If you want the most tidy boot with costom bios boot screen, go for mb's where you can customice this. I know the award bios is patchable, but its risky. I have also heard that the DFI Lanparty cards are patchable from within Windows without messing with the bios.

when you copy back the old directory, make sure you run the Start.bat from the old version.
Another approach that Smirnoff (I think) suggested was to have the proper MP directory and a testing MP directory. they can both run together (not at the same time of course). Just start whichever one you want. Production or test. they...

Ya, I noticed that there is some lack in the support department for the 550 cards.
I guess that we will have to be patient. More and more cards are being released with the 550 Chip, so ATI will have to release the SDK at some point or risk a major mutinay by End Users.
nVidia keeps working on their competing chip but, so far...

By quiet we mean fanless. The less heat generated by the system the less fans needed (or at least the less work they have to do) and so less noise. If you are going to use parts which generate lots of heat you would be wise to invest in silent fans and big heatsinks. Having said all this it is really a personl tolerance thing - if you...

Is there any cordless gamepads that uses IR and not RF frequencies on the 2.4 GHz band? The reason that I wonder is that I am using a audio/video extender that occupies the RF frequencies and I suspect that there might be problems if I have two devices on the same frequency.
